The best place for hakata ramen. My favorite this is that you can customize to your liking. You choose the way your noodle is cooked, the amount of oil and the strength of the soup. You also get too choose if you want additional items or remove some of the items. The best part is that it is so inexpensive for such a good meal. The restaurant itself is small with about 6 tables and bar style sitting. Walking in here feels a bit claustrophobic. But I don't mind you can always order takeout. For 2 people we spent about $60 and we had 2 reg. Sized ramen, extra noodle, 3 beers, gyoza, edamame, and a new banana tempura dessert so we had lots of food for so little. Def. Recommend.
When I said that I went to Shin Sen Gumi, lots of my friends know the place. So it must be famous somehow. The food is delicious and the the service is fine.
My favorite ramen chain in SoCal. I'll review all their locations cause it's worth it. Cheapest bowls of ramen and very rich and clean. Authentic feel to the atmosphere and staff. Always go during lunch for no crowds and great lunch combos. This spot has iced oolong tea which is great.Food: 5/5
This brand is unrivaled, and going here gets me 98% of the food experience I would get at the Gardena or Little Tokyo locations. Service is fast, noodle and broth quality are stellar. I like ramen from a lot of places; I crave Shin-Sen-Gumi and Ichiran is a close second.
Went for lunch. Very small place maybe 15 seats inside. Better to order take out I think, but I ate here for freshness. Sign on a wait list. I had the Hakatah ramen with normal flavor, the firmer al dente noodles, and pork belly with a soft boiled egg as a side. I have never had to create my own ramen before, so that was a nice touch, but if you don't know what youre doing, better ask somebody! Broth was oily, even with normal selected, salty, but the noodles are really good! Not the best Ramen I've had, but an affordable bowl for this area. Flavor 3.5, ingredients 4, noodles 4.5, ambience 3. Vegetarian options: Made to order Kid-friendliness: Not really Parking: Big lot for small restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: Yes Dietary restrictions: Made to order
Their ramen has always been delicious. Can't wait to go back once they're open for dine in. Update: This place continues to be the standard of delicious ramen and great service. The staff is always friendly and on point. The broth is perfect. The pork chasu melts in your mouth. The gyoza is exactly how it should be. Crispy, delicate and big in flavor. The ambiance is old school and welcoming. PS, the spicy miso gives the ramen a flavor unlike anything else.
I loooove their ramen so much. One of the best shinsengumi location throught california!!
Very delicious yakitori! First time here during the lockdown and was so happy to find the quality remains the same. We were able to sit inside due to indoor dining becoming ok now. It was pretty quiet and the service was very fast and professional. We ate many types of yakitori, with my favorite being the pork belly and tongue skewers. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for Japanese food. I spend a lot of time in Japan with family and I can vouch this place is authentic when it comes to the food.
Ordered $25 ramen bowl from Uber eats. Got a quarter size of pork, lousy noodles and decent broth. Total rip off!!!!
Consistent ramen. Their other foods are kind of meh. Between the musubi, the beef bowl, and the takoyaki, and the fried rice, the fried rice and takoyaki were better. The ramen is a certain style of ramen that you'll either love or hate. I recommend stopping by. They do have several locations.
