It's always a favorite of my husband's. We always ordered the skirt steaks. Usually if we're in the mood we would get pork belly and sausages like tonight. The beef quality is consistently top notch. Just be ready to wait for an hour or two if you come past 6:30 on weekends. We came right around 5:40 and seated within 20 minutes.Dine in: Yes
One of the better yakiniku restaurants in the area. Get there by the 5pm opening on a Wednesday and no wait for the seat. Later, the seats fill up and you'll need to wait 1-2 hours. Everyone must be present to be seated. Don't bother calling - show up to put your name on the waiting list. The weekday special with beef and chicken for $47 is a good start to try. Later, you can wander into that other cuts like beef tongue and dishes with the yukke raw beef. Else, just stick with the marbled cuts of beef to bbq and eat with rice, then skip the rest of the menu and go right to dessert like kinako ice cream. Like who eats a Korean bibimbap when going to a Japanese yakiniku restaurant?! LA/OC smog rules handcuff them from using real charcoal, so the taste will never be as yummy as it is in Japan where they do use charcoal. $175 or so for 3 for dinner, no alcohol. That's higher than the $125 or so a few years ago, so prices have been going up a lot. At this price range, Morton's for steak isn't a bad alternative, and you'll get more beef to eat as well.
For sure one of my top 3 favorite Japanese grills in the states! Especially the wagyu and raw beef. We went from dtla to OC for this for so many times. Remember to get there early, or you will need to wait for more than an hour.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: No
Arrive at 5pm Saturday, waited about 2 hours. Food is pretty good, remember to turn up the firegas.
This place is popular, we went half an hour before their dinner opening on a weekday and the line quickly grew. Was seated shortly after 5pm. Ordered a variety of wagyu snd seafood to grill. Everything was super good and enjoyable. Look forward to returning.
I don't gie 5 stars out but this place is amazing. The food was amazing, the service was on point but the only issue is the typical wait.....and that can be lengthy. The place is small so get there early or be prepared to wait but it is worth.
I've recommended this restaurant to also believes this is one of OC best gems. I have to come here atleast once a week. You must order the beef tongue, spicy cold noodles, yukke raw beef, and family combo. I prefer tsuruhashi over anjin because of their pricing. The family combo can leave you satisfied at only $40 while at anjin you need to splurge atleast $80 and above to feel content. Keep in mind the family combo is only available on select weekdays. If you are debating on whether or not to eat here, this is your sign to go now.
Reservation is recommended Food was delicious from the beef to beef tongue to pork. This is not an AYCE establishment so if your hungry you will pay the price. You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Service is pretty good even when it was a full house. Everything came out quickly. Definitely will come back.
Recommend beef tongue and chicken cartilage.
Get here early for first seating. Order 2 of the Kobe Gold $29 per adult. Add an order of their cold, or spicy noodles. Enjoy!
