Mr. Shirazi was very knowledgeable throughout the process. He was direct in his communication, managed expectations, answered any questions I had, and ensured everything was processed in a timely manner. I felt very confident in his abilities to handle my case and would certainly recommend him for representation. Excellent job!

I contacted Mr. Shirazi about one year ago. I read reviews and they seemed positive. Unfortunately he is not reliable, flaky and a total waste of time. I would never recommend him. He is entirely unprofessional and not very bright. Here is what happened: I contacted him because at the time I had been working for a company who did not pay my salary for quite some time. Mr Shirazi gladly took my case because the amount in questions was quite high and he was interested in collecting a large portion of that, since he offered to take my case on contingency. I had never worked with a lawyer who takes a case on contingency. I was concerned that it could potentially backfire, because it could mean that the lawyer is not as responsive. I was hoping my concern would not be validated. But it was. His sales pitch at our first meeting was very convincing, slightly over the top (which should have been a warning sign – but I was blinded by hope). He told me this case is “easy” for him ( I don’t believe any case is easy ever – certainly not when it includes high caliber opponents and is complex, which I told him at our first meeting). He says he has a lot of “celebrity clients” and uses “the media against them”. Not sure I would agree with that tactic, but it was one he seemed proud of. I just wanted someone who was strong and motivated, and he seemed so. Once I signed his retainer his attitude changed. I couldn’t reach him for weeks. Then after three months of noting he finally met with the opponent’s lawyer. He called me after the meeting and seemed overwhelmed by the complexity of the case. Mind you, I had laid out the case in detail and had warned him about what would happen. He must have not listened and he certainly didn’t read any of my briefs on the case. Would he really think he could earn over $100k without preparing himself for that meeting? Apparently he did. He seemed not to care about the details and any preparation and went in cold. No wonder he was overwhelmed. He gave me excuses as to why he was unclear what steps to take next. He asked for all kinds of paperwork, which I sent him. Mountains of paper. I don’t believe he ever actually read anything. Whenever I called him for updates he was “busy” or away. Another four months with nothing happening go by . I kept calling him and pressuring him to take action, at which point he hands me over to his colleague Sherri, who sends me a form to fill out for the labor board. That form is one I could have filled out by myself – from the get go - no lawyer needed. At the time my mother became ill and I had to leave the city for a few weeks. When I came back I received a letter in which he explains he can’t represent me because I didn’t fill out the form . Mind you the form is one his secretary could have filled out, because he had all the information from me for nearly a year. I believe he is lazy and doesn’t really care about his clients. He was surely annoyed by me pushing him to do something. The professional action to take would have been to tell me the case is too complex for him, a which point I could have hired the other firm that had offered to take my case. He should have done so in the beginning, not nearly one year later…. I’m now filing with the labor bard myself and called them today to walk me through the process. Turns out they are actually very helpful and don’t charge me 45% of what I would receive…. Go figure.

My large corporate client was in need of a first-rate employment lawyer. A colleague referred me to Mr. Shirazi. Impressed with his credentials, experience, and demeanor, I retained him for my client on a major employment/labor matter, and was very pleased with the result. More important, my client was so pleased that it retained him for further services. I have since conferred with Mr. Shirazi on a number of occasions and have referred several more clients to him. He is bright, friendly, very knowledgeable in the law, has high integrity, and wants to help where he can.

Emanuel is one of the best attorneys in the Employment Law, because he knows the law back and forth, he's extremely transparent, he delivers results and he's always on top of the case. He has a great supporting staff that is very accommodating and helps to push your case along without delays or communication gaps. I'd recommend him to anyone serious about maximizing the results for their case at hand.
