I’ve been going to Shores since 2012 and I’ve never had a bad experience. The front desk techs are knowledgeable and friendly. The vet techs are gentle and very helpful. Dr. Ortiz is amazing and kind. I trust them all with my 3 pets and couldn’t recommend them enough. The location is convenient and they always have a pot of coffee on. Love them!

I can't say enough great things about Shores both the staff and Dr.  Dr. Ortiz are wonderful, a great vet and truly cares about your pets.  I have been taking my dog and cat here for 11 years.  Both of them have some medical issues and I trust the care they receive.  Thank you!

Since our three elderly rescued cats moved to Florida three years ago, Dr. Seufert has been our veterinarian. In Sept 2014 she saved our Richard's life by flagging the first sign of a very aggressive cancer at his wellness check. It was a subtle change in his blood work and has enabled us to treat him early. We had hoped for a golden year for him. 16 months later: Richard is now 16 years old, undergoing chemo therapy, and enjoying his life greatly. Shores has access to the latest equipment and diagnostic tests. Their staff is very well trained (in addition to very kind and concerned) and have many connections to the University of Florida Veterinary Medicine.

They upsell and are not clear with procedure estimates. I was not aware that my appointment would be almost $600 for two cats to get leukemia and rabies vaccines with a blood panel including urinanalysis until after the appointment even though I asked for estimates before. They did not even perform a urinanalysis on one of my cats even though they charged me for it since it was "a package deal with the blood panel." This was the only vet I had gone to in Gainesville for 5 years, and because this was my first experience owning cats, I thought the things they were constantly upselling me were necessary. I am definitely going elsewhere, and for those that chose to use them - I recommend getting the itemized costs before the appointment and cross check them with what the internet/other vets actually say is necessary. As a student on a budget, this experience has been extremely frustrating.
