Story

Signs of Life is a bookstore, art gallery, and espresso bar all rolled into a big wonderful place whose purpose is to be a blessing to the community. We opened our doors in March of 2003 with the intent to be a place where people could find good books, not just any old book, but books worth owning, thoughtful books, books that tackle big ideas. And not just books, but fine art too! Our professional sales gallery represents artists who want to present beautiful images - work that grapples with the mystery of life and finds reason for hope.

Once you’ve engaged our books and art, you’ll need a place to sit down and discuss them. Our espresso bar is the perfect place! You can get all your favorite coffee and tea drinks, juices, soda, bakery goods, chocolate (mmmm!), and even kettle corn. It’s a calm and inviting atmosphere - you won’t find friendlier baristi anywhere. And you'll frequently find great live music for free.

Signs of Life is one of my go-to study places. Signs is spacious with enough seating to always find a spot, and one can enjoy perusing the art gallery and bookstore during breaks from studying.  The coffee and beverages are done well, but the major plus for me is the well-lit atmosphere and the friendly baristas.

A very fun and energetic atmosphere, due to the large amounts of college students that buy coffee and study here. The employees are very nice and helpful, a must visit!

Did you know they have a meeting room? In the way back, ask if you can't find it. I had to.

Amazing place. Great coffee, comfortable area for studying, chatting, and browsing for books. There is an art gallery upstairs. Sometimes they even have live music. My favorite drink is the London Fog with vanilla instead of honey. The change from honey to vanilla was suggested by an employee when she was helping me look for a new drink to try and I told her I didn't like honey. It's the things like that that make this a great coffee shop. One of my all-time favorite.

It's a wonderful bookstore and coffee shop. They also occasionally have live music on Friday mornings.
