I have been raised on the Skunk Train. My dad has worked for them for over 40 years. I'm sad the tunnel closure has shortened the ride, but it is still a must do when visiting. I've rode the train 100's of times and it still never gets old. I couldn't recommend enough. If you go, say hello to the engineer Pepper. Tell him Matt sent you. Be sure to check out the outstanding gift shop. Great variety and value clothes and gifts.

The train and model train museum were great! All of the staff members were kind, friendly, and helpful. The narration during the Pudding Creek ride is entertaining and informative - don't miss it! And the model train museum staff are incredibly knowledgeable. Overall, this was a great way to spend a few hours in a beautiful and historic part of California. Bonus - concession car serves beer!

Found this attraction on our way to Glass Beach. Gift shop was nice but we missed the days 1 hour outing. Unfortunately at the time of our visit Nov 2017 the train wasn't going the full distance due to track repairs. But definitely looks like fun ride into the woods and hopefully the tracks will be repaired next time we return. Behind the gift shop is a small warehouse with a many model trains chugging along tracks with printed history notes. Including a replica model of the skunk train.

My husband and I love the Skunk Train. In December we take the grandkids to see Santa - yes on the train!- what a hoot! In the summer, we love the open car where we can stand outside in the cool fresh air as we rock along under the shade of the redwoods. All year round the Train Singer is an extra you're unlikey to find on any other locomotive. It's an all around good time for folks of any age.

Nice place, very friendly staff. The train ride is a very pleasant experience with historical connotations. Don't miss the toy trains running on spectacular sceneries. I found Fort Bragg residents very friendly and welcoming to tourist.
