It's a real treat for anybody who enjoys train rides and the staff is fantastic.  If you're lucky, the train singer will be aboard!  My great hope is that soon the recently collapsed tunnel will reopen and the full route can return to service.  The skunk train people are passionate about this wonderful part of California heritage so I'm confident.  When it does reopen, I will up the review to five stars and buy a ticket!  Even so, it's a beautiful and worthwhile excursion and a great way to spend your afternoon.

This is a trip back in time and definitely worth it. One recommendation I have is that if you're taking small children (in my case, younger than 3), have some activities or entertainment ready for them as there is only the forest and vistas to look at and they could get bored quickly.

The employees were all friendly, the train ride educational and great singing and music performed for your pleasure. You can even bring your dogs along with their own dog ticket.
