In September 2015, Sligo’s Young Adult Department launched a new ministry called GLOW, an acronym for God Lighting Our World. This ministry seeks to reach the Millennial generation by following God and cultivating a deep passion and commitment towards impacting the community around them. GLOW started with a weekly interactive Sabbath School program called GLOW Study that meets in Memorial Chapel. Through the blessing of God, the GLOW ministry grew and a subsequent ministry called GLOW Worship was established in September, 2016. GLOW Worship is a monthly young adult worship service held in the Sligo Youth Room followed by homeless ministry outreach in downtown Washington DC. GLOW has also grown to include GLOW Groups, a ministry dedicated to creating community around the Word of God through young adults doing life together.
We are a group of young adult Seventh-day Adventist Christians who are seeking to follow God and have a passion to impact the community around us. We believe that encountering Christ changes lives and creates meaning and purpose for our existence. We don’t just want to do church, we want to be the Church.
