One of the female guards was hollering at a female inmate trying to get her attention, the guard was yelling "Hey criminal". When I realized what she was saying I couldn't believe it. She could refer to her by her last name or even "inmate". Considering the woman she was calling "criminal" was not yet convicted. Staff is biased and I've never felt more unsafe then when I went to that jail.

Actually as a Administration of Justice, Legal Studies and Public Health STUDENT I spent my night out @ the work release building in a doorway in the middle of a wind storm. It was safe about as safe as possible in EVERETT WASHINGTON SNOHOMISH COUNTY 98201 I had to buy a blanket from the goodwill up the road and fend off advances from a "street urchin"(homeless dude) who for sum unknown reason thinks we are a couple. I am as always abstinent. Saving till marriage. I was greeted by custody guard's at morning shift change. I had a very cold cold windy night outside of the jail.

Just like any place there are bad apples. Many of the staff on the inside will write you up, change your modules or instigate a situation with the excuse " because I am an officer" It seems if they are having a bad day they are allowed to make your life hell beyond what situation you have already gotten yourself into. 8 deaths in the last 3 years... no surprise at all. If the higher ups would monitor what they do on the computers then someone might see that playing around there or on their phones is much more important than actually doing the work designated to them. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of good corrections officers. I just cant come to believe that the bad ones are not weeded out. Glad there is a Federal Investigation underway. I truly hope they turn this place around and instill some loyalty to the oath the "officers" swore to uphold.

The food was terrible and the staff was rude. Don't recommend coming here.
