The Social Club is part of the "Academy of Social Dance", which is where my husband and I used a Groupon for lessons.  The instructor's are talented dancers, but if you want helpful, beginner lessons in a fun, relaxed environment, this is NOT the place.  We are currently taking classes through Ballroom Philly, and the contrast could NOT be more noticeable!  The Academy of Social Dance instructors do not have the skills to teach beginner students.  That doesn't make them bad dancers, but they're intensity and instruction are definitely directed at more experienced dance students.  In one lesson at Ballroom Philly - 45 minutes - we learned more than we had with 9 private and semi-private classes at the "Academy"!  My husband - who always left the Academy angry and frustrated - left that first class smiling, excited, and willing to come back for more fun.  Overall, teaching is a skill in itself, and the instructors at the Academy of Social Dance to not have the proper skills to reach and communicate with beginners.
