I went to this SSA office to get a new card after getting married (name change). I called ahead of time to schedule an appointment, but was told I didn't need one. I was a bit skeptical since the SSA website said I needed an appointment. I was pleasantly surprised at the speed in which I was seen. I arrived around 10:15 AM on a Friday without an appointment. I signed in at the kiosk and before I even sat down, I was called to the window. I already filled out the form that was needed for the name change, so I think that sped up my visit quite a bit, but overall, it was very fast and easy. I was slightly annoyed that I couldn't get my driver's license immediately at the DMV (takes 24 hours for the system to process the name change), but I don't think that's on the fault of the SSA office. It has to do with the new Real ID's the DMV uses.

Service was fast, but they assured me that I could use the receipt after I changed my name with them right away at the DMV. DMV will NOT take the receipt!!! They need 24 hours after you go to the social security office before my name was changed in the computer system!!! I wasted over an hour at the DMV to be turned away.

Took them 2 weeks to send my SSI check! Didn’t even have any back pay

'Gentleman' at the window was very condescending. Things get stolen and lost, especially during a move... he had no right to call me dumb for my stuff getting stolen.
