Story

SolAire has been building quality custom homes on their client’s land since 1995. From the very first, SolAire has integrated passive solar design, energy efficient homes, and healthy indoor living into the familiar form of traditional custom homes. We build green custom homes throughout Central Oregon and take great care working with our clients to design quality custom homes which fit their land and distinct personal tastes. Our current focus: Net-Zero Energy Homes!

Often we are asked: What is a green home? A green home is a better-built home, containing amenities and luxuries of the Central Oregon custom home, but with the assurance that the home will out-perform and outlast homes built to standard construction codes. Your SolAire custom home is certified green as both Earth Advantage and ENERGY STAR. We are proud to offer LEED for Homes to all our customers.

My husband and I discovered SolAire Homebuilders while researching Bend and Northwest Crossing in particular. We set up a meeting during our first trip to Bend. The prospect of buying or building a net zero house appealed to us both in terms of quality and sustainability. After meeting with SolAire and touring Northwest Crossing, we ended up buying land with the plan to have SolAire build us a custom net zero home. Although we have yet to move in, our home is finished and the process though long (our choice) has been relatively easy even though the majority was done via email and phone calls. Trust in SolAire and a good working relationship made it possible to build from afar. Mike and Cindi (and other staff) have been great to work with and we feel that they were watching out for our interests and that their values and aesthetics were similar to ours. Cindi was there from day one (land search) and we appreciate all she has done and can’t wait to move into our beautiful custom net zero home.

We've been in our new (award-winning!) SolAire home now for 2 months and we love it. We looked at a LOT of homes in Bend, and the quality of the SolAire construction and finishes was just flat out better than everything else we saw. Our new home is certified both Earth Advantage Platinum and Net-Zero Ready (we're working on adding Solar in the coming months), so we feel good about buying an eco-friendly, efficient home. You might think there is some sort of sacrifice or trade-off when buying green, but this is not the case with SolAire - it's all top-notch. Thank you Cindi & Mike!

SolAire built an extremely green and beautiful home for us in Bend, OR. We have lived in our home for a year now and are very pleased with everything. It's a testament that not only our energy bills very low, but our home has won awards from the Central Oregon Builders Association for Best Architectural Design, Best Interior Finish, along with several other awards. It was also featured on the Solar and Green Home Tour. The building process was very enjoyable with SolAire. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

My wife and I had Solaire build our wonderful home in 2004 - 2005, and we have nothing but the highest praise for this local company. Every time I come back from a cold bike commute, walk inside our home and feel the warmth of the passive solar design, my whole soul smiles. Solaire (as their name implies) stresses the fusion of form, function, and solar integration. They're willing to do as little or as much of the solar as you'd like. We did what we could financially, and Solaire gave us a beautiful, cozy, inviting home. We've since added more solar features, and their original base home idea augmented beautifully. The good folks at Solaire took care of us from the planning phase to the moment they gave us the keys...and they took care of us like family. While that might sound like a lot of fluff, one must remember (not that long ago) when Bend, Oregon was overrun with hack "contractors" trying to make a quick buck in an overly inflated market. Solaire never succumbed to that greed, instead focusing on quality homebuilding, paying close attention to detail, and going to bat for the homebuilder, if needed. Solaire is wonderful; they will build you the home you want, guide you in the process, and make it as painless as possible. When they're finished, you will walk through the door into a one - of - a - kind home, and you'll smile (as I do) at every turn. You can't go wrong with Solaire. Bravo!
