wonderful cupcakes family and i thoroughly enjoyed it we always love coming here and buying these cupcakes. the price may be a little high but its quite worth as the young man behind the counter left us with a wonderful experience and customer service who knew what he was talking about as he helped us choose our cupcakes. highly recommend coming back here and to others who have not. although the price is high for cupcakes it was still very good. keep up the good work as you continue on with this business. best of luck.

My organization ordered a gluten-free cupcake breakaway cake for a large pubpic event. The cake included 36 cupcakes total, 3 different flavors (white, chocolate, and lemon), as well as a large custom graphic. The graphic itself was beautiful (it was printed on a sugar sheet printer, we just emailed it to them), and that's really about the only thing I can say that was really good about it. We paid $10 to add the graphic, which is reasonable, and another $10 for them to "arrange" the cupcakes the way we wanted, which they didn't actually execute as asked. In addition, they didn't look at all like a breakaway cake, they were just frosted normally and the printed graphic was laid on top. The result was less than aesthetically pleasing, it looked awkward and unprofessional. It didn't tear when you took a cupcake, so we ended up with scraps of it everywhere. The frosting was dense and heavy, with little flavor other than sweetness. People were literally scraping it off and eating the cupcakes bare. The cupcakes themselves were okay, but nothing to write home about. For $112, we were pretty disappointed overall. We do at least a couple of big (500-600+ attendees) events a year, and I can say that we will NOT be going to Something Sweet by Maddie Lu again.

I've always enjoyed my treats from Something Sweet, the cakes are light, fluffy, and full of great flavor, the frostings (most of them) are light, creamy, and fluffy and she offers great flavor options. The only downside for me is the fillings aren't always that exciting and I'd personally prefer a few more vanilla cake options, but the decorations on them are great (I mean look at her cakes!) and the edible cookie dough is awesome! I happily drive out of my way here instead of to another local chain because it's just better. The staff has also been very helpful in addressing allergy concerns for my fiance when we've gone, since he has some pretty serious ones as well.

We bought a Star Wars cake that was very awesome to look at. It was quite expensive but the birthday boy loved it! The actual cake part was great, and we got it layered with cookie dough which was sooooo good! The only reason I am giving this four stars is because of the frosting. The frosting was beautifully colored but most of it tasted like gross frosting dye and was inedible even to the kids. With that said, I will still likely purchase a cake there for our next party.

So we went to have a Birthday cake ordered for my daughter's 16th Birthday. Had a cake testing and made the order. They asked how to spell her name. When we picked up the cake and got home. The name only had two letters on it of the name. You could not really see it in the box. So when called to get it worked out. They wanted us to go to the store and buy a frosting tube to correct it ourselves. They also offered a store credit. Which we don't live even close to this place so then she said well you could just wipe off the name and just let it say Happy Birthday. I did get them to do a refund but still none the less was not the best way to handle it. Then after I was driving back to the shop to get the refund the owner calls and says I heard your not happy. Really. Then when I am standing in the store for the second time the managers cell phone rings and says just one minute and walks away from me. Guessing it was the owner calling her but who knows.She took the order and she says they rewrite every order and must have gotten interrupted when rewriting it. On the order form she only wrote part of my daughters name. So not the bakers fault. Guess they need a new way to take orders. Need less to say we won't be going back.
