What an amazing and unique food and wine experience. We traveled from Seattle to Paso Robles to dine at Chef Ian’s restaurant and it was worth the trip down the coast. He expertly paired wines with a very tasty meal from start to finish. So many amazing flavors. This was an opportunity for us to taste wines we have never had. Highly recommend. We will return for some of the other events Ian does!
Delicious!! We had over a dozen wines paired with delicious food. The owner goes out of his way to make sure that the 16 guests for the evening have a great time. The wines are from all over the world. You get to try bottles side by side that you would not normally have the opportunity to do. The food was fantastic. One of my favorites was a dessert muffin that was so light it was probably made from clouds. The only dish I liked more than that was actually a tomato that was smoked, roasted, and soaked in olive oil. It was like eating a savory dessert.
I feel very lucky to have been able to enjoy this incredible food and wine experience. Each course had a story about its preparation, ingredients and why it paired with a specific wine. If you are into food and wine this is a must do! We have dined at Michelin restaurants and have traveled extensively, never have I experienced a dining experience such as Somm's Kitchen. This was like being at a cooking show having a Sommelier discuss the wine and a chef walk you through the preparation. Very causal with great conversation with your dining partners. Ian is witty and generous with his knowledge and experiences. We tasted some incredible wines from the area as well as some very special old world stunners. I cannot wait for our next opportunity to visit again.
This was a truly amazing, unique, personalized experience and one we will never forget. Ian is a fantastic chef with incredible wine knowledge. We learned so much about the differences in wines and really appreciated the opportunity to taste different ones side by side. Our group shared the planned wines for the evening as well as a couple extras that Ian added in based on the direction the conversations went and things he learned about people in the group over the course of the evening. The food was also very good and very well prepared. Each course had a perfectly paired wine. There was more than enough food for everyone and more was offered with the courses to those who desired additional - much like it would be in a home kitchen. We hope to return to Paso again some day and would probably plan our trip around when we were able to get a reservation at Somm's Kitchen. Thank you so much Ian for the experience.
My wife and I had a truly wonderful experience here. You will get to taste wines from all around the world from someone who is passionate about them, and Paso. We had wines that we would never get to or know to experience here coupled with an amazing dinner. You will not leave hungry! It's also fun having a small setting to have conversations with the owner and those around you. We weren't going to a restaurant we were coming over for dinner and some amazing wine. Loved, it and looking forward to returning with our friends next time. To the owner, thank you for doing this!
We absolutely loved Ian and Somm's Kitchen. This was one of the top 5 meals of our lifetime, and that doesn't even count the unbelievable wine pairings! Ian was so accommodating to our dietary restrictions Gluten Free + Vegetarian, definitely don't that that keep you from booking. During the cheese course, one guest exclaimed, "I could be buried in this!"
It is abundantly obvious that Ian Adamo’s life is focused on wine and food. His passion comes through as he meticulously walks guests through multiple courses of exquisite food that are paired perfectly with phenomenal wines and champagnes. He satiates both mind and body. The setting is intimate and fun and the bill won’t break the bank. Ian certainly puts pleasing his guest over profits.
Ian is amazing. He obviously knows his wines. His food is delicious but the way he prepares his food is truly amazing. Pay attention when he describes his food prep. It's awesome.Food: 5/5
What a great experience! If you have the opportunity to eat at Somm's do it. it is one of those meals that is more of an experience than just a meal. Ian is very talented, not in just the food but the presentations, the wine, getting all 14 patrons engaged in conversation. The wine and food sublime. One of my top 5 meals ever!
The chef is an artist. His food, wine pairings, the amout of time he spends preparing them and explaining what he did and why he paired it with the wines he did is phenomenal. We had the most exquisite time. It truly is a food paradise moment. If you love food and enjoy champagne and wine, this is the place not to miss. We wilo come back for sure
