We had two gentleman come to our house in the early summer. Our central air wasn't cooling down the house at all, so they came to take a look. We needed a thorough cleaning of the actual unit. They were able to take care of it quickly, and efficiently, and even sent us photos of the unit for personal use if needed. They were nice and friendly, and also really professional. They provided options for us to make sure the price fit our budget. Great experience! We plan to use them in the future.

I recently paid $440 for a GFI outlet replacement that took less than 30 minutes. After asking why it was so expensive the electrician told me it was because of the outlet they used and then the customer service person sent me a generic email, that they seem to send out to everyone, about how much overhead they have which includes about 40 items meant to make you feel bad for questioning the price. 

I looked at RSMeans Electrical cost data book to see if I could find an estimate for the work. In that book the total cost, with profit and overhead (all the items they listed to try and make me feel bad for questioning the price),  for 1 electrician to do residential wiring of a GFI with #12f/2, type NM cable would be $114. Which is a difference of $332.50. 

Their cost works out to $773 per hour for the electrician (he completed the work in less than 30 minute) and $60 for the outlet. 

I would never recommend going with someone who charges $773 an hour for work. Go somewhere else.

The motor on my furnace stopped working last night during the cold snap and my house was losing heat really rapidly.  Eric came out at 1:30 AM and got it running again until he could come back the next day and replace the motor.  Even though he had been up all night on calls, he was super friendly and made a bad situation into a great customer service experience.  He even told me that if the furnace shut down again before they could replace the motor, the company would provide me with space heaters.  Cannot recommend this company highly enough!

Great experience with South Hills Electric for an air vent cleaning! The technicians called before they arrived and were right on time. They did a very thorough cleaning of the vents and explained everything along the way. Super friendly and gave me tips on how to improve efficiency in my house. I would definitely recommend their services!
