I have honestly never been so disappointed with one doctors office visit in my entire life. The front desk was rude immediately (I was 15 minutes early and she scolded me like a child for not showing up a full half hour early to fill out paperwork), so I didn’t ask them to code my visit the way my insurance told me to. Boy do I regret that- I called later and the receptionist (different from he first one I talked to) was literally yelling at me for asking her to commit fraud by coding differently, even though I was just asking about it (bc I’m apparently supposed to know everything about coding as a random citizen). Because of this, I will pay out of pocket for the entire visit bc it didn’t get coded correctly and the worst part is it’s one of those visits where the doctor did nothing for me. Dr. Barnett is a nice guy, smart enough, but he is terribly awkward and probably has a lot more knowledge than experience. His bedside manner was awful. I will be searching for another doctor. South Suburban Internal Medicine really blew it- if I could give zero stars I definitely would.
