Well while I love Alamance Crossing but since this review is solely about Carousel Cinema, I'd only give it 3 stars mainly because the theater's sound system is horrible... It's not Dolby sound system and they don't even have a surround sound system. It's a disappointment for the price of the ticket. I think they oughta look into investing some money for better sound and experience for movie goers. And the screen is friggin small for such a big hall....such a shame!

Good theater with good popcorn, but they took away Cheerwine. We're still pretty sore about that. They also serve beer now which makes for a fun evening.

Great theater experience for the price...no it's not Silver Spot, but you're not paying for Silver Spot, and refillable popcorn and large drink for two is only $11, which is AMAZING! Usually very well-staffed and staff is courteous.

My son and I went here last night to see the 9:15 showing of Guardians of the Galaxy 2. I paid over $30 &all we got was one medium popcorn with no refills and one $5 refillable drink. Ridiculous. A single bottle of water is nearly $4 here. Plus the popcorn was very stale. But the thing that really upset me is, when I came out to get a refill on the $5 drink, the whole place was empty. Not one single soul in sight. The concession stand was dark and shut down &I literally walked around everywhere for 5 minutes trying to find an employee. I even looked around outside. It was straight ghost town. There were still movies playing and customers still in the building, but it looked as if all employees just abandoned the place. I only paid the $5 for a silly drink so I could get the refills, yet I couldnt get a single one, everything was shut down &everyone had just left! No way I would've paid $5 for a drink if I had known this would happen. I would've gotten the smaller cheaper drink with no refills. The girl that had served us should've told me I wouldnt be able to get the refills I was paying for &she should've told me to just get a cheaper cup. She had to of known she planned to shut the concession stand down before our movie was set to end. What if I had paid $10 to get the refillable popcorn? I would've wasted my hard earned money on that as well because I wouldn't of been able to get a refill. So glad I only got the smaller popcorn &saved my money. Its the principal behind it. Not to mention, with all the employees disappearing like that, leaving customers alone inside, anyone could've stolen anything or vandalized property. Very unprofessional. I wont be going back. Complete rip-off prices and bad service. And I have called and called and nobody has ever answered the phone, it just rings &rings, the automated response doesnt even answer to list the movie showings. This place is ran by uncaring teenagers & I'd rather go elsewhere. Still cant believe I paid $5 for a drink that I couldnt even get refilled like I was supposed to. Pfftt.. P.s when I walked around outside, although there wasnt an employee in sight, there was a side door propped &left open that led inside to areas only employees are supposed to go. Out in the parking lot there were rambunctious teenage boys goofing off (I assume customers) and they, or anyone else could've just easily walked through that propped open door &went straight inside &robbed the place blind. The front doors to the front entrance locked from the outside once we walked outta the building, but that door that was left propped open on the side of the building could've been used by anyone. Very unprofessional and very dangerous for your business. I nearly walked through it to find an employee to refill my drink, but I realized it led to an employee only area so I didnt. But other people may not of been as respectful. Employees here need to take their job more seriously. Update: As of January 2018. I'm happy to say, Southeast Cinemas has upgraded their interior &now has self-serve soda machines! No more racing to get there before the concession stand closes. &No more walking out of the movie for a refill only to find the place empty &nobody to give you a refill you paid those big bucks for. Very happy about this new change! And all sizes are now refillable as well.

Movies are great here and the seats are the best (especially in the back). The screens are high quality viewing. But the prices are pricey.
