To whom it may concern, My name is Armando Zaragoza and I have just recently been terminated by your company for not progressing in classroom. I was hired on 05/08/2014 and terminated on 05/14/14 by Joleen Judd Director of Safety and Training . Joleen Judd told me I was being dropped after 5 days due to not progressing in class, but yet I passed every test that was given to me and there was no verbal or written warning of my progess in class. I don’t understand why I was dropped other than racist intention. Reason I say this is due to several conversations Joleen Judd shared with us in class. All these conversations can be verified with my other co workers in class. First conversation was when she stated that bus lines were made only for Black and Hispanic poor minorities. I don’t think bus lines were only made to help the Poor and Black Hispanic Minorities. And why state this in a training environment. Second incident in which she brought up the case with Chick-fil-A in which Joleen Judd stated that the restaurant had kicked out a gay couple because they were gay, again a subject in training that should not be discussed in a training enviroment. I stated I don’t that the restaurant kicked out a gay couple and I would google that, and Joleen Judd stated that I was argumentative Third incident in which Joleen Judd shared with us a story about her brother buying a home in Hesperia next to her house. She started the story with “ I don’t have a racist bone in my body…..but” She stated her brother called her and to come to his house on Friday around 11:00 pm, she stated the brother had bought the house with all white neighbors. She stated that when she got to her brothers house she told him what happen to your neighborhood its full of blacks and hispanics and that it became a bad neighborhood now. This story disturbed me the most due to the fact that she stated that due to Hispanics and Black people moved in the neighborhood that now it’s a bad neighborhood. This is a direct statement of her racist views. I didn’t say anything due to I wanted this job and didn’t want to say anything. I feel I was fired due to i was a poor hispanic minority and not due to not progressing because I did pass every test. I am very disturbed by this whole thing and that a company such as Southland transit would employ a trainer that shared her racist views with class and fire someone after 5 days of training due to not progressing without any verbal or written warning. I will be contacting the Labor Board and all City Newpapers that Southland Transit services to express my concern with the racial views of the trainer Joleen Judd and Southland Transit that employs and supports racial views of Joleen Judd.
