I enjoyed the atmosphere.. Loved the scenery. But I didn't enjoy the staff.. Didn't appreciate my belongings being confiscated. Didn't appreciate being lied to. The staff are all ex-drug addicts so they assumed everybody was there for drug problems.. I have a mental disorder. Didn't like the prison-like atmosphere. Didn't appreciate my belongings being called contraband. They take all your personal belongings and give you what they want you to have... If you don't like being treated like a criminal. Don't go there. And the food was awful... You ate the same stuff everyday. They charge your insurance $500 a day for you to eat but they feed you sandwiches.

These are terrible, terrible people! They let my husband leave without his belongings and not once did they have the decency to answer the phone when we called to see if they mailed his stuff back home since we live in a different state. They did absolutely nothing but keep my husband in the detox house for two weeks straight! My husband was assaulted during his stay and they didn't even care enough to document the incident! This place should be shut down!! I would have LOVED to resolve the issues with them directly but I NEVER GOT ANYONE TO ANSWER THE PHONE! I hope this review keeps someone from going to such a terrible place! Sovereign I don't want your automatic reply, just answer your messages.

This place is a joke. It's all about insurance fraud. Don't be misled by the photos. That is only for detox then they will put you in a ghetto. You cannot even find your case manager or therapist. You will go to the psychiatrist three or five days a week and the insurance they pay for you doesn't cover the five hundred dollar bills. Not to mention the thousands of dollars you are responsible for when they told you were on a scholarship or foundation

My original therapist referred me to Sovereign Health since I was abusing opiates. I was in an outpatient program, but I did stay at one of the residential houses once in awhile. Sovereign Health helped me with new therapy modalities for my addiction that included group meetings and other elements such as recreational time. We could go to the gym or do yoga, went to lunch and come back for an afternoon group. The group meetings were very informative, but also friendly and didn’t bore me to death. On the weekends, we would have beach trips or go to other off-site outings which were really good. The houses were beautiful and a great place to recover. I was very comfortable and at home at Sovereign. It was a welcoming environment and always had relaxing things to do like go to the pool. The staff is incredible and I actually enjoyed coming to Sovereign. I am clean and sober and am definitely applying a lot of the tools that I learned. Now that I’ve left my program, I just live at home, go to work, attend a meeting every day and just try to deal. I am very thankful; Sovereign really did save my life and I love all of them.

I talked to somebody on the phone at Sovereign Health, looked at the websites, saw beautiful beaches and decided it looked like a peaceful place. I started to learn about post-traumatic stress disorder at Lake Arrowhead. I’ve been here almost 7 months now and I don’t regret it at all. As time went on, I realized how affected I really was. I needed long-term mental health help. A lot of the meditation is easier to do here. Once you leave, it is a whole different ball game. The longer that you are here, the more practice you get. That was what was helpful for me. There were different people with different issues in the program, and it got me out of my own head. It was definitely different, but I was very happy. I am grateful that I came into Sovereign’s mental health program. I would tell new patients to be grateful that you made it here. Don’t listen to the negative people that might be coming through here. Everybody is negative at a certain stage of their recovery. The best thing I can recommend to anybody is to try to be positive as often as you can. It is not easy sometimes, but just making it here is a chance at turning your life around. I think the best anybody can do is believe that it is going to work if you want it to work. Whatever the issue is, you can get help. They have done a lot for me since I have been here. I am just grateful that I made it as far as I did.
