Story

Sparkling Image Car Wash is the oldest existing full service car wash in Cedar Rapids. It was opened in 1958 as Al’s Kwik Car Wash and has since had several name changes and extensive remodels.
The business has been in the current owners family since the early 1960′s. The last major renovation was in 1994 and brought the business back to it’s beginnings of a full service car wash.

I went in for the first time today, to buy a gift certificate for Christmas. The men outside were more than helpful & very kind! They informed me on where I needed to go & were always smiling even though they were in the freezing cold! I walked inside where people were clustered by the counter, but no one was being helped. So I stood there for awhile & was never acknowledged, the receptionist KELLY never even looked at me. Then when I finally got her attention & started to tell her what I was looking for.. she put her finger up & told me to stop talking, then walked away from the counter. She came back with a sheet of paper to just show me the prices. Not only was I so shocked at how rude she was, the prices were outrageous! She then interrupted me again when I went to say something so I just walked out. I know one person is not the only representation of the organization as a whole, but she is a representation & was the reason I chose to not give them my money. I hope others have a better experience

Detail Shop does AMAZING work.  Car wash does a great job. Love the clean car guarantee. I always get car done before I leave town and again when I get home.

If all you want is a quick vacuum, partially clear windows and a rinse. Please...go here. But if you want any mud washed off the underbody, don't waste your time.  Now I'm talking about the kind of mud you get when driving past some road construction with water on the pavement. We aren't talking about mud running in a pick up. Also, the "tire shine" is a joke,  just buy the cheapest wash here. Unless you buy a full detail, you won't get much in the way of clean. The only value comes from getting a re-wash if it rains.  30 bucks later, I still had to buy actual tire shine, (even though it was supposedly included in my purchase.)  I'll need to wash the rest of the mud off my air dam and wheel wells, clean and polish the rims, wipe down my interior. So all in all, I still didn't even save any time by going here. I'm being generous with the 3 stars.

I had an interior detail and they did an amazing job-my car was disgusting and it came out better than I thought possible!
