I'm not quite sure why the older review for this business, had to be so rude in their review, BUT....I would like to give an unbiased and updated review. I have been shopping around for a military gown for an upcoming ball. (Mind you, I know....and most people should realize, that this IS the busy season for them, bc proms are coming up.) With this being said, and knowing that the location of the place, is situated in a cozy small town, I really didn't mind that I wasn't being waited on attentively; because I prefer to puruse the selection on my own. In the South, we are known for our charm....and this owner is no exception to a Southern Lady. She was quite kind, extremely knowledgeable about different brands and sizes, and so genuinely considerate of every customer who came in. (No matter their budget) There's 4 dressing rooms, and a center stage, in which one is able to preview their gown decision. I spoke personally with the owner, and came to find that she has been owning ans operating this shop for 17 yrs. Not only is it quaint, but it also has a great selection of various famous designers, in many colors and sizes. The owner makes SURE she doesn't sell the same dress 2x to the same school, in order to prevent girls from showing up with the same dresses. (This is just another example of how she goes out of her way to assist her customers.) Also, she helps the local schools run a "project closet" for underprivileged students, who may not be able to afford a dress for their prom. Discontinued lines or older dresses, she donates to these project closets to help the local community. All in all, I honestly can give this business 5 stars.....I consider myself unbiased, bc I have never met the owner previously, or even known of the store, until today. I didn't purchase a dress, because I am still looking, however, the owner stayed after hours, to offer to me, the opportunity to look through a selection book. (Which she said she would've been happy to place an order for me, for the next business morning.) She also offers a lay a way program, bc she has many high schoolers who ofter have to pay for their own dress. I believe that the other reviews on here, may not have been privy to all of the information herein. I am Southern as well, so...we tend to communicate a lot, and find out small things quickly. (Aka the gift of gab) My point of all of this is that, I believe that previous reviews may have mismudged this local Southern charming delight. This is a store where one doesn't rush....where they know and call you by name, and probably knew your mother and grandmother as well. If the door should not be open during reg hours, there's most likely a reason, anD the owner makes SURE that there ARE other ways to contact her. (Instagram and facebook.) I personally WOULD return to shop here, bc I loved the atmosphere, the warmth and hospitality, as well as a beautiful and varied collection of dresses.

Went in here on the hunt for my wedding gown. The staff was very attentive and helpful and had such wonderful suggestions. Even though i didn't find my dress, I'd recommend to anyone on the lookout!

So after days and hours of driving my soon to be wife around looking for a wedding dress we finally came upon this store as a last resort. Luckily she found a dress in there that she liked and was told would need very little altering to fit what she wanted. She asked the sales person if she could go ahead and leave it there to be altered. The salesperson replied that their person was excellent and for those alterations would take no more than a day. It was recommended to bring it in near the end of the month. We both thought it was a bad idea but we were assured it would be a one day job. Fast forward to a few days ago when we made a 4 hour round trip to drop the dress off to be altered only to find a locked door. According to their stated hours they should have been open and there was no sign stating otherwise. SO we went back today (ANOTHER 4 hour drive by the way, I hope whoever owns this hole is reading this) only to find the freaking door was locked. Again hours state they open at 10 and there was no posted sign stating different hours. We waited and I went to the door to see if it was open and low and behold I see someone sneaking around the shop trying to be undetected. At this point you can imagine how angry my bride to be was and after waiting some more we left. Long story short: You screwed us really good Special Occasions! Not only do we now have a dress that cannot be altered in time, we have to somehow pull one out of our collective butts for this wedding. I knew this was a hillbilly operation when we bought the dress and tried to pay for it....but wait.....couldn't use our card until some lady was done gabbing on the freaking phone. 1) She looked right at us, knew we were trying to check out, and just kept yacking about how the Change of Life had slammed into her like the iceberg hit the Titanic 2) The year is 2013 and you do not have a line solely for card processing and a credit card swipe? Seriously go back to your shack that you call a home and before you do please just take down your posted hour sign because I know you obviously only show up once your moonshine hangover calms down. You run a third rate operation with inept customer service. I totally get why you are in the town and location that you are. Lastly it would be nice if you would answer your phone or get that wench off of it because we have called 5 times only to get a busy signal. Do you even have a phone anymore? Or have it been cut off due to lack of customers? Thanks for wasting my freaking time. I hope others do not. I would not recommend this place to Honey Boo Boo.
