A community of volunteers from senior citizens, middle-agers and young people who all work together to support foster youth who are or will be on their own

Story

Special Treasures is not just a store, but a workforce development program for youth in foster care in Iredell County. 100% of our proceeds go back into the program. We accept all gently used items as tax-deductible donations and sell them at reasonable prices. We are proud to offer quality items, name brands, and a lovely ambiance.

Youth in our program learn a wide array of competencies to prepare them for higher education and/or the workforce. These include marketing, budgeting, fundraising, supervising, software operating (Office & Quickbooks), shipping & receiving, and design. Additionally, they learn soft skills such as relationship building with the public and colleagues, self-esteem, communication, independence, grammar & vocabulary, and general professionalism.

We are always seeking merchandise and monetary donations, volunteers, and customers. We are always eager to speak to your group or organization about Children's Homes of Iredell or Special Treasures.
