I've never left a review before but wanted to after working with Paul (owner) to produce some fine jewelry out of a handful of black pearls I picked up in the Pacific. With very little explanation, Spey was able to make a set of stud earrings and two pendants exactly the way I wanted. From the customer interaction, the jewelry itself, and even the packaging, all around stellar service.

I'd like to add that I attempted to contact several jewelers in the DC area and none of them were willing/able to work with unprocessed pearls provided by the customer. Just remember to bring your credentials of where/how you procured them.

If you're looking to buy or redesign pearl jewelry look no further than Spey. Paul did a phenomenal job working with me to ensure I had the ideal gift to present to my wife on our wedding weekend, proving prompt, responsive, and flexible to my needs. Paul designed several potential pearl earring options for me to choose from, and outlined a number of options to restore and redesign an heirloom pearl necklace. He was flexible with my budget and schedule, meeting in person a number of times to design and present choices. The earrings he created are gorgeous, and the necklace has never looked better. My wife was thrilled and we definitely plan to turn to Spey in the future. Paul's personal touch takes the experience to another level, and we'd highly recommend Spey.

My husband just surprised me with a double strand of multicolor Tahitian pearls for a special birthday and I must say, they are the most exquisite pearls I've ever seen (and I have many beautiful estate pieces).  The craftsmanship, luster and presentation is nothing short of exceptional.  As well, Spey added elements of customization which made them truly bespoke.  The first time I wore them, I received eye-catching compliments   throughout the room.  I can't thank Paul Ashe and the Spey team (and my husband, of course) for adding to the elegance of my life.

Fantastic experience working with Paul at Spey Pearls!! I was looking for a specific gift for my wife and he was able to get exactly what I wanted with a very quick turn around time. Not only were the pearls beautiful, but I received some of the best customer service I've ever gotten from a jeweler. Paul even offered to meet me at work to review the pearls at my own convenience. I would absolutely recommend Spey to anyone in the DC area looking to buy pearls.

Spey’s product quality and service is unmatched!  I had some unique and exacting specifications, and Paul was able to provide the perfect set of earrings for my wife that I could not find anywhere else.  I initially had a limited understanding of pearl jewelry, and Paul took the time to provide me with the foundation of essential pearl qualities. He was able to make me feel confident in the design process and kindly recommended the types of pearls that would go best with what I was looking for.  He also provided timely updates and sample pictures throughout the design timeline.  His quick responses and quality customer care made the whole process very easy and enjoyable.  The earrings were flawless, and my wife was extremely thrilled with them!  Spey is THE go-to place for pearl jewelry in the DC area, and I will enthusiastically recommend them to everyone.
