Very nice suites! We had 4 rooms total for Joyce Myers Conference. I just wish I had more time to spend in the room. I will be looking for this chain the next time I need a hotel.

Updated rooms are nice but the breakfast area is uncomfortable and crowded. They also seem to have a problem figuring out their preferred cliental.

Excellent staff. Enjoyed breakfast. Sorry they were not pet friendly. Rates were very much "up and down."

The service I received at this hotel a couple of weekends ago was absolutely appalling. I came to Virginia for a friend's birthday that I have not seen for quite a while (I live out of the state). We grabbed dinner, went karaoking, and just caught-up. After staying up all night talking and deciding to make this a full-weekend trip, I came downstairs to the front desk to try to extend my reservations. I come downstairs to the lobby area and no one was at the front desk. I called the number listed for the hotel and was being helped by a woman named Barb. I explained to her that I just wanted to extend my reservation for another night. She informed me that, because this room was booked on Expedia, she would not be able to do this and told me I needed to contact Expedia to extend my reservations. Thinking she was someone at a general customer service number, I asked if I could speak to someone physically located at this hotel -- to which she said "I am the front desk staff here." While on the phone, I came BACK downstairs and low and behold, now there was someone at the front desk. We hangup and I proceed to talk to her in person. I informed her that I travel very frequently for work - always booking via third-party websites - and I have never been told this. I asked if this was a new policy. She INSISTED that, unfortunately, she could not assist me. That I would need to contact Expedia in order to extend my reservations OR that "the best she could do" would be to put me on the phone with Marriott's reservation line and they can book me a fully new reservation. She stated that, if I wanted to be placed on the phone with Marriott reservation, she would "make a note" for her manager, Sunshine, to make her aware. I informed her that I would rather wait and speak to the manager myself. She looked directly at me and asked, verbatum, "Why? She is going to tell you the same thing I just did." NEVER have I been treated this way. She was very rude from the very beginning and was persistent on being "unable to assist me." I felt as if this was some kind of bad joke. I literally had to take a step back and think "did she really just say that to me?" Fast-forward to when Sunshine arrives. Barb stood next to her the ENTIRE interaction. I did not say anything about the issue I was having, I simply explained to her that I wished to extend my reservation for another night. In no-less than five minutes, she extended my reservation and told me to have a good night. I said "can I ask you something? Why is it that you were able to do exactly what I asked, but Barb INSISTED that she could not help me? I have never been told I needed to "contact Expedia" to extend reservations." Sunshine did not even answer before Barb said "she did exactly what I told you I could do. She made you a new reservation and linked it to your room." To which I responded "no, Barb. You told me I needed to contact Expedia or be placed on the phone with customer service. You told me you could not help me." Barb said "sir, that is not what I told you." I looked at Sunshine and she said absolutely nothing nor did she try to intervene in anyway. At this point, I asked for their manager's information - which was Fatima Achhal, the assistant general manager. I emailed AND left them a message (this exchanged happened the weekend of April the 14th) and I have yet to hear back from them. I am incredibly disappointed at my stay here. Unfortunately I am just getting the opportunity to write this length review because of my demanding job schedule, but I have never felt so disrespected and unappreciated as a guest at Marriott. Even writing this review is so surreal to me because I used to have nothing but pleasant things to say about this hotel.

My stay at this place has been very nice, daily room service that does a great job. The room on the 4th floor was recently renovated and is very nice. The breakfast is good for when you're in a hurry. Parking was ample for my stay. I honestly don't have any complaints about this place. The WiFi gets the job done with browsing and streaming.
