Reviews

I have visited this location twice to study and on both occasions the music choices make it difficult to focus. The first time there was punk rock playing and on the last occasion literally J-Lo, Destiny’s Child and other clubbing tracks. 

I enjoy these types of music in the right setting, but a Sunday afternoon at a cafe is probably not that setting. If they can get the music more appropriate for a coffee shop I will definitely come back. 

Otherwise, consistent with Spyhouse quality! Great interior design, good lighting and consistently good lattes.

GOOD DRINKS!! Food was ok but expensive. Had a lunch date with the hub (our first time there) and we weren’t blown away. Service was good and the atmosphere was nice! Bathrooms were far as hell. I’d try there again during happy hour.

To everyone looking for a COZY place to have coffee - No. Go anywhere else. Even a Starbucks. This is NOT IT.

I wanted a cozy place with cushioned chairs and dark wood interiors to read a book - Google said this was good and I got duped into it by all the reviews.
That said - they had Interesting coffee. I had the lavender one and it had a subtle lavender after taste which was pretty neat. But also expensive. Also not hot. Or even warm really. 

The decor and everyone in it seems like they're trying really hard. I got more of a fake hipster vibe from this place and I'm sorry for calling it out. Some people do love it and rave but it's like a glorified Starbucks trying to be quirky.

The decor at the Washington St. location is awesome. The detail to color scheme, marble table tops, gold accented chair legs, sconce and chandelier lighting worked very well together. Compliments to the designer. The coffee backs it up too, the place is not all show. Coming from San Francisco and Seattle, I think this place is a legitimate roaster and coffee shop. The rotating bean selection is reasonably priced. Barista was courteous and to the point, no nonsense as it should be. At first impression, this seems to me among the best, if not the best coffee joint in the Cities.

If you're looking for a modern feel in the city with a beyond amazing cup of coffee, look no further. Spyhouse is one of my favorite cafes in Minneapolis. All their drinks are so awesome and they even have fresh bakery snacks too!
