The people at St.John's Episcopal church are the best!  My husband of 44 yrs had just passed away and I was lost.  I felt that I shouldn't make a plan for my future because I was so raw from losing my mate!  I found St. John's and have been so busy, I don't have time to feel sorry for myself.  I started with the knitting group then moved on to spend many hours with the Sunday School program.  Subsequently, some other ladies and I formed a group to cook for the Feed The Hungry program at St. John's.  We call ourselves, "The Grannies" and have great fun while helping others.  I've also worked with the First Friday group in support of Milwaukie's art walk one night a month.  

The people of the church are very classy people: warm and welcoming to all, intelligent and dedicated to learning,  Another lady in the church asked if I'd like to join her a performance of the Portland Opera and we loved it so much we have both purchased season tickets!  

My life is on the mend and I'm feeling confident enough of myself these days that I as a retired teacher, I am now applying to teach overseas!  -A new life and safe direction with a supportive church family.  Life doesn't get much better!
