Best experience ever!  

Took my mother for eye surgery, and it was an exemplary visit from pre registration to post op.  The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and put us to ease.

I have been a patient and I work there. The St. Marks surgery center at 45th ( not to be mistaken for St Marks Outpatient surgery center), takes great pride in having the center clean, friendly, and the staff is very compassionate to their patients. As a patient all the staff was knowledgable about their department and let me know what to expect. I was meet and greeted by every staff member that was going to take care of me. The 45th center is were i recommend everyone to come for outpatient care. Not bigger just better! With my personnal experiences with other bigger hospitals they treat you like your just a number and like your a waste of their time... Not at 45th! Love this place!

Staff was nice, friendly and helpful.  The facility was clean and comfortable.  One of the most important things to me was that they allow your family to come back to your bed with you right up until you get taken into surgery - even children!!!  That was such a comfort for both me and my child.  :)    It felt much more personalized and relaxed than being at the outpatient section of an actual hospital.

I spent this morning in the surgery center with  a family member. The nurses and staff were very hurried, similar to an assembly line formation. There was no rapport , just go here and do that. Everything was very cold and clinical . This was very disheartening for a surgery unit. You are already naturally apprehensive and with no warmth or reassurance from the staff, it added stress to the experience. The Dr. came in like a lightning bolt, checked off a few things on the chart, asked what they were doing today and then briskly left the room. You could almost hear the cha ching sound when the wheeled the patients into the or room. I would not recommend St. Marks Hospital on so many levels
