The Mission & History of St. Peter's Hospital Foundation
Founded in 1978, the St. Peter's Hospital Foundation has provided a vital source of funding for capital improvements, technological advancements and program enhancements support and strengthen the mission of St. Peter's Hospital and other components of St. Peter's Health Partners. Since its inception, St. Peter's Hospital Foundation has been blessed with the support of thousands of generous donors—more than 12,000 per year, who have provided more than $85 million in charitable gifts during the past 35 years.
The Foundation is governed by a board of directors comprised of 30 community and business leaders, lay people and Religious Sisters of Mercy. A comprehensive annual appeal is conducted to raise more than $2 million.
The St. Peter's Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation that is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and is exempt from federal taxes. Donors may deduct contributions to this organization as provided by section 170 of the IRS Code.
All contributions, both large and small, make a difference to the continued work of the Sisters of Mercy and their “healing ministry” here at St. Peter’s Hospital. Make no mistake, you can make a difference.
