I’ve been going to St. Rita since I was a child and I have never been so appalled and shocked in my life thanks to a one Father Don Munro. After countless back and forth phone calls regarding scheduling a baptism for my 2-month old son, we were told to attend the 9:30 AM mass on Sunday, July 2nd. We’re accustomed to attending every Sunday, so this was surely nothing off of our backs. We spoke to Deacon Joe, an extremely friendly and considerate member of the church. Unfortunately, his schedule was booked for that weekend, and he counseled us to come back for the 4:30 PM mass to speak with Deacon Jim. No sweat, we decided to come back. Boy, oh boy were we in for a treat! We waited a while before anyone familiar from the church showed up and that is when we approached Mr. Don Munro. Not only did he interrupt our question and shouted at us to go to the office to figure it all out—he repeated, “so what” repeatedly when we tried to explain that we were sent there. After letting him know that the office told us we were to speak with a priest or deacon directly, he told us that what we were saying was “bull” (mind you, I’ve never heard a priest speak like that in my life. A first indeed.) We finally decided to walk away, though he continued to antagonize us as we departed. A quick summary of my experience, but to say the least, I will no longer attend St. Rita for mass. Furthermore, I’d never want such a rude, relentless, demoralizing man praying over my son, that’s for sure! I promised I’d write a review, and here it is. But hey, he’s just one of us isn’t he?
