Story

Located in the heart of Stacy, MN, Stacy Hardware has been serving residents of Stacy and it's surrounding communities of Wyoming, North Branch, Chisago City, and Forest Lake since 1971. Some long time Stacy residents might remember us as GAMBLES OR Our Own Hardware, but we're still the same. Owners Donna and Jim Keacher, along with their long time service manager, Doug Miller have taken great pride in personally assisting their customers with friendly service and an extensive selection of products, tools, and parts since the store opened about 43 years ago.

A full service, family owned hardware store, Stacy Do It Best Hardware carries a large selection of electrical, plumbing, painting, and home care products. We carry a huge selection of tools and equipment by trusted manufacturers like Stihl, Snapper, Hustler, and Husqvarna.

It doesn't stop there. For the outdoor enthusiast, Stacy Hardware is a proud distributor of Polaris Snowmobiles and ATVs and now Polaris Generators.
OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE THE BEST SERVICE AND VARIETY OF PRODUCT POSSIBLE.

I always have a good experience when going to Stacey Hardware. In saying that, I know what to expect. I call ahead with my part #'s that I need. This Polaris Dealership has probably outgrown their little Hardware store and needs a bit more help. But I've always had good luck when getting parts, they have more stock than dealers 4 times there size. I don't know, their is just something to respect about a place that is trying to get by the way things used to be. Owners are older and don't want or need to really change with the times as of yet. They do get busy, but that's to be expected when you bring your snowblower in after it has snowed, really. Out of all the bad stories on here, remember a person with a good experience usually tells no one. I person with bad one, tells everyone. A lot of the negative customer service responses are party due to our society's need to have everything known for them, and have it the next day at the cheapest price. Basically coddle and hold the customers hand because they are too lazy to do a bit of research on their own. Who's really driving small business out of the USA, the spoiled consumers; lower prices, free shipping, free return shipping, etc, etc, etc. Not everything can or will be Amazon folks. Think of that the next time a small town business asks for cash. How much markup you think is on a bag of nails that he now has to take 3% out of his cut.

Listen, this is a small town hardware store and they're great at what they do. I recently dropped off my mower with them and knew it was a valve issue - just said it wouldn't start. Waited a few weeks and called, it hadn't been looked at, said they would today. Called back a few hours later and it was done for $80. Other shops world have charged me upwards of $300 given symptoms and the issue. They fixed it for $80. Yeah, not super fast. Yeah, not keen on small credit card charges, don't be an idiot, that cost them a bunch. Chill out, they're not a giant shop with throngs of kids working on your stuff, they're a handful of lifetime employees with extensive experience running a local business in a small town. Set your expectations correctly. Quality at a small town pace with a small town demeanor. Imho, they fit the bill perfectly.

The owner was extremely rude towards me. He got very upset (started shouting at me) that I was paying with a card and not cash since I was only buying one item.

On 7/25/16 my boyfriend walks in to pick up the six chain saw chains we left with the company a couple weeks ago to be sharpened. Upon arrival to pick up the chains for an upcoming job, we are informed there was only four under his name.We explain we tied four of the six chains together with wire and the remaining two were loose in the bag. We are POSITIVE we dropped off six chains as my boyfriend does tree climbing as a side business and we are aware of what we have for inventory. Someone who I presume to be the owner was then shouting at my boyfriend, talking down to him and then telling him he doesn't know what he's talking about and completely won't take responsibility for HIS company's screw up. This is the second time we've been treated like trash by the owner and will never be back. As well as we will be sure to inform all of our Chisago country friends about this company's shady, belittling, and terrible customer service.
