I was interested in purchasing a chair and called to inquire about setup and delivery. the chair was advertised with free shipping. the chair was in stock at my local store.

After waiting on hold for about 15 minutes, I asked if there was a way to have the chair setup and then delivered to my workplace. The associate told me, that if I came in the store and ordered in the store,  I could purchase the chair, which comes with free delivery and pay their in store setup fee of $14.95 and they would put the chair together and then deliver it.

When I went into the store, (there were only one or two other customers in the store at this time) I went to the office furniture area and looked at the chairs. I was in this area for 30 minutes, not one sales associate came to see what I was interested in. 

I went to look for an associate and found one in the online pickup window. he came out to help, I showed him the chair I wanted, which was on sale for $99.00 with free delivery. Next to the price tag was another tag which offered chair assembly for $14.95. 

I went to arrange having the chair assembled and delivered. I was told that I could have this done, but it would be expensive. He informed me that if they put the chair together, they would have to have the chair delivered by a third party delivery company.

I told him that I was told otherwise over the phone and asked why the chair is advertised as free delivery and you offer setup for $14.94, why if I want to do both, you change the rules?

The associate then contacted the manager over his phone, the manager said nope we don't do that.

Not once was I told why I was told differently over the phone and your in store signs also say differently. the associate didn't ask the manager to come and assist.

The bottom line, not customer service. Staples does have good prices, but you won't get customer service in this store or online.

I was treated bad as if I was some kind of burden. I was nice. The worker behind the electronic section counter was not. He was no help and caused me to leave. By his shortness , harsh treatment ,and his look of annouiance he gave to me , I called him on it and told him, "You are bad"and left. I will spend my 2,000.00+ dollars a year elsewhere.

One of the guys in there is super pushy on buying certain products.. other than that I go there alot for my business needs
