As a customer of State Farm for over 20 years, my agent recently retired and my policies were transferred to the Calvin Lam Agency. After my first interaction with this office, I had a feeling this office was not right for me. I had spoken to a particularly unprofessional customer service agent at the agency named Liz, and immediately had concerns about this agency conducting my business in a professional manner. Liz spoke to me in a condecending way much like a child, and often interupted me mid sentence. She just seemed to not understand how to talk to custmerrs on the phone. Having a bad day maybe? OK, so I gave them a benifit of the doubt and moved on. However, this concern was confirmed when a few months later after purchasing a new home, my mortgage lender needed to work directly with Mr. Lam's agency to modify the start of my policy to reflect a change in my closing date. Once again the same customer service agent from before (Liz) was unprofessional and treated my lender in an extremely rude way, providing false and incorrect information to my lender regarding State Farm policy. She informed my lender that once a policy is in effect, the start date cannot change. This is simply false and both my lender and myself knew it. It seemed like she was just trying to get out of the work to make the change for a customer. The lender was so surprised by the rudeness of this associate, that she took the time to call me informing me of the lack of professionalism in dealing with what should be a very simple issue. Because of all the drama, this agency adversely affected my ability to close smoothly, ultimately culminating in me choosing to switch to a different local State Farm Agent. Mr Lam infromed that many times agencies will not accept the transfer of polices which I also found was false. Its standard practice and State Farm has provisions in their system to make this easy. Why lie to me?  My suggestion: stay away from Calvin Lam's agency. There are so many great State Farm  agencies in the area. Don't waste you time with one that isn't. 

ps: One of the positive reviews of this agency incldes a favorable review regarding Liz. Take that with a grain of salt as the reviewer has the same last name as Liz and probably posted that review to make a family member look good. Trust me, my mortgage lender informed that in over 10 years of working with Insurance agencies on closing this was the worst interaction she ever had with an agency.

GREAT people here to deal with. Liz and Calvin have helped me SAVE MONEY !!! 
When it comes to questions and complete understanding the details of knowledge are great. OUTSTANDING experience and I have many friends signing up with STATE FARM due to the quality of knowledge from Liz. Calvin has great team and always a good energy when I come in to pay my bill. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE to many more people. !!!

My wife and I love Calvin, we have 3 cars with him, rents, and our second auto loan. He is always willing to take the time to talk to us. Calvin gave us the best prices as well. Just get a quote it will be worth your time.

My policy came from this State Farm and I couldn't be happier. Liz handled us very professionally and makes it a point to make sure things are running smoothly with us. The process didn't take long at all and I'm glad she was the one to help us. I don't see how anyone could leave a negative review about this agency as a whole. The people that work here are genuinely nice and try to help as best they can with a situation when it comes to them. Thank you Liz and Calvin!

Calvin saved me $229 dollars a month by combining my auto and home insurance! 
His staff is polite and professional! I will certainly recommend him to any friend or family member!
