Our state's Department for children and families needs a major fix because many of the policies and programs it has right now does not help children or the families at all! But actually current policies and DCF programs just makes it a lot worst because all the social workers are over loaded with way too many cases so they don't have enough time and attention to focus on making things better. Many of the DCF social workers are burned out and not very competent or qualified at their jobs - because of lack of training and empathy from the top levels of leadership down. Speaking of which,  the commissioner needs to resign also because things have got much worst ever since she took over! She has a legal background only and does not comprehend that the same kinds of policies from a legal background don't work in social services. So Department of Children and families needs to get a brand new commissioner who actually has experiences working with children and families, and also have a very detailed background in social services instead of just law background only.

They will ruin your family. You are better off asking a stranger to mediate your problems, DCF will only make it worse. They will throw your child in a facility full of children with all sorts of mental disabilities and can be a safety hazard towards them. Another alternative is juvenile detention if they cannot find a place for your child right away.
