Since 1903, the Connecticut State Police, a Division of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, has provided a full range of law enforcement services to the State of Connecticut. There are currently 11 troops located throughout the state with State Police Troopers providing the primary law enforcement services in 82 of the 169 municipalities in Connecticut. Additionally, the CSP provides major crime, special criminal investigative units, emergency services, cause and origin fire investigations and traffic and truck enforcement to the entire state.

Troop G is headquartered in the city of Bridgeport with the responsibility of covering 20 cities and towns in lower New Haven and Fairfield counties. The population within its territory accounts for approximately 30% of the entire State of Connecticut while only making up for 10% of Connecticut’s land area, which makes it the most densely populated area of the state. CSP Troop G has the responsibility of patrolling the approximate 57.28 miles of Interstate 95 from the Connecticut/New York State Line in Greenwich to the Town of Guilford. In addition to Interstate 95 Troop G also patrols a large portion of Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) as well as portions of Routes 25, 8, & 7 and Interstate 91 and 684. In total Troop G is responsible for approximately 115 miles of highway not including all the interchanges, exits and entrances. Additionally Troop G provides Law Enforcement services to (6) court houses, the Bridgeport Correctional Center and (14) full-service rest area facilities. There are numerous state buildings and properties throughout the 412 square mile Troop area that Troopers respond to calls for service as well.

I was involved in a fender bender on I95s and was given a ticket, fair enough , Trooper was polite and professional and a credit to the uniform. I misplaced my ticket and that is when hell begins. The Centralized Infractions Bureau does not have it 21days post accident, they refer me to Troop G records, which at this point consists of a recording telling you that you may and visit in person at the lobby of Troop G records operation Wendsday between 8:30 and 2:30 and bring your checkbook. I did reach a person who identified herself as an Inspector who listened to my woes and then informed me that they issued the ticket but I am the fool who lost it. Thanks Inspector Obvious. I want to pay the ticket all I want is the #of it and the amount it can't be that hard people and why does it take so long to send it to CIB.
