After running all over Tallahassee trying to find my sister a gold clutch for her prom the next day, I decided to give Stein Mart a try. Thankfully, I found a clutch that would go with her dress, however the two that were left had dings and scratches on them. Rather than chance not being able to find one at another store, I asked the sales associate if they had anymore in the back or could they simply take something off the price because paying full price for something that is damaged just didn't make sense to me. Andrew the cashier, as polite as he could be, called for someone in accessories to come and assist us and no one came. He then spotted someone across the store and called her personally. Jelena (sp) walked up and before she even reached us told him "There's two managers, you know?" He then again nicely explained that he called her because he knew she had experience in accessories and thought she could help. Hopefully that's not a crime. After literally glancing at the clutches she very rudely told me that she'd give me 10% off and "I shouldn't even give it to you because it's not visible." I would have never expected that from a MANAGER. Not sure if I'll ever return after that horrible customer service encounter.
