I wrote a review awhile back that was rather negative. I was extremely frustrated because my bike kept getting flats. After blaming the Steve's Bike Shop, and taking my bike to two other mechanics as well as looking at it myself (I'm an engineer), I ended up back in Steve's shop. I had replaced the tube after every time it popped (which was every time I rode), as well as the tire itself. Even though I think I found a solution, I was not confident in it and found myself deterred from riding in fear that I would end up stranded somewhere with another flat. I finally ended up back at Steve's shop and expressed how frustrated I was and that I just wanted to replace the rim so I could have confidence in the solution. He told me to give him another try so that he could really diagnose the problem. This time I had the old popped tube as well. Turns out the replacement tubes were not a good fit and they were pinching in the bottom well of the rim. Steve was able to diagnose the problem that multiple people (including myself) overlooked, and he did it graciously even though I had given a previously poor review.

Bottom line, Steve's Bike Shop is very professional, thorough and fair.

This place isn't far from where I'm living and I needed to come in to get some new tubes and maybe a new tire. It was my first time there, Patrick was working the front and he was great with assisting me. I felt like he wanted to help me and that he didn't want me to spend more than I had to, and he was able to get me in and out as quickly as possible. He also referred me to the trails around the area and let me know about a biking group that goes out every week. Great customer experience!

Been driving from Pasadena up to Altadena since 2001. Steve and his staff offer a true neighborhood shopping experience. Steve is an experienced rider, offering his knowledge for riders of all ages. From restoration, maintenance and new bike purchase...This is the place!
