In regards to the other comment. The holes in the ground are squirrel holes. They are all over the entire land, not just at the camp site. It is the outdoors, complaining about bugs is a little frivolous. There is an outhouse, and a handful of benches. It's specifically made as a place to camp overnight. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I did a two night weekend with The Boy Scouts, And I thought ,This would be a great bike packing destination, The area is really great for that escape feel, And the nights are incredible.I would love to do an S24 O some day here.

Initially I was excited to find this campsite along my hike. I needed a place to sleep overnight. However after overlooking the area I was disappointed to see trash, leaves covering almost the whole site, oversized beetles, and too many bugs to count. There also appeared to be a number of what looked like snake holes around the camp site. I think this camp site would be great if someone or the contra loma park staff cleaned it up and removed the trash and leaves covering the area. Yeah seriously though there is a bug problem there I left my stay at the camp very early because there were too many bugs crawling near my tent at night. It's the only camp site near these trails so I think someone who works for the city (Antioch, ca) should clean and fix it up.
