Great place to learn about the history of Texas's cattle-raising. Really helpful and friendly staff eager to help explain things. The museum itself is more like a one-room gift shop, but there are good exhibits of vintage equipment from the city's days as a meatpacking capital. Behind the building are actual stockyards where you see see longhorn cattle, mostly steers. The building itself still houses offices and some cattle-auctions are based there, though much of the trading is online instead of in-person.

This museum is a small gem. For the small cost of $2 it holds a wealth of information. You can even pick out a cowboy hat to wear as you sit on a saddle to make your own pictures at no extra cost.

It's nice to smell cattle droppings. $5 for pictures on top of longhorns and $2 for petting zoo where we can pet goats, and $7 for small horse riding if your weight is less than 100 lbs. Many stores with a lot of products made in China. We enjoyed the march with longhorn cattle, cow boys and cow girls at 4:00 p.m. Food is ok worth the experience.

This small museum is a lot of fun. For just $2, it is hard to pass up. I'd definitely recommend going if you find yourself at the Stockyards.
