My son and I have been going here for 3 years. I have nothing but good things to say about this family run establishment, the service and the food. We used to go weekly, but now it is more monthly. The staff makes my son feel like a little celebrity. They have let him borrow decorations and bring his own in. He asks to go to " the restaurant" every Thursday. Good burgers, chicken tenders, soup and pizza. Kid-friendliness: Staff is great with kids
We always enjoy coming here. They have a great selection of craft beers which are half off during happy hour. Never had a bad meal here.
This sandwich had no flavor other then egg. The waitress told me "That's how a fried sandwich is, that's what the dipping sauce is for!" Look, you charged me $10 for deep fried bread, there was no real meat or cheese on that sandwich and fried or not it should have it's own flavor and me not liking the dipping sauce should not render the sandwich inedible. Sorry not sorry but I don't think you even deserve 3 stars if I left hungry after I just ate! Looks on the other hand looked good...
Super clean and staff was friendly. Tried one of their soups and it was very enjoyable. The serving was way bigger than I was expecting. Tried one of their pretzel sandwiches. Asked for dressing on the side instead of on it and they didn’t follow through. Only reason why that was important was there were. Number of items I would try but many had one thing I would want to omit so curious if it was a one time thing or if it would be hard to get an other followed correctly. I was pleasantly surprised by the meat on the sandwich, the ham felt more like it was off of a bone vs deli meat. The bread itself could have been a bit more flavorful or maybe it was dry, hard to say but just ok. The fries were also just ok, didn’t seem super fresh/were kind of cold so probably wouldn’t recommend for take out if that’s how they came for dine in. Overall both the sandwich and portions were huge so you might want to split things. I would definitely try them again.
I ordered the veggie pesto and the way it advertised online is not the way it was brought to me. I had to show the waiter the photo of the food online. Then I was charged a different price than the menu price. Why? It took 20 minutes to get one water. Why? Vegetarian options: Had to show photo of online menu to get correct food
Love stokes! Every time is a treat. Great drafts and bottles and delicious food. Not it mention nice staff, my go to for happy hour.
My wife and I frequent Stokes at least once a week. We are never disappointed. The quality of the food is superb and the service is very friendly. Their pizza is among the best in the North Hills, which says a lot. Their draft selection has a lot of depth and promotes local breweries. If you are looking for a place to watch any Pittsburgh sport, I recommend Stokes. Their happy hour is great, amd they broadcast audio for most games, which is not common for similar local eateries.
Had always heard decent thing about Stokes so i gave it a try. The food was really good. We really enjoyed what we ordered. The service however was lacking. We waited for a while at the hostess desk and saw not a single employee anywhere. Finally the bartender wandered over and seated us. Later another couple came in and after waiting a few minutes to be seated gave up and left. Just costing themselves customers at that point. Waitress wasn't much better. Bottom line is they really do have great food, but service might be hit and miss. Everyone has off nights and maybe I was there on theirs.
Late lunch on a Saturday and there was one seated table. Took 5 minutes for server to come out. Food was super fast, too fast to have been cooked fresh. Servers were never out of the kitchen. Another couple walked from not being assisted. Didn’t get water refills. The menu has way too many options, and difficult to read since font is so small with white font on black background. The music was too loud. We should have left. I won’t go back.
My wife and I love Stokes! They always have a great rotating beer selection and I have tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The best part about this restaurant is the service and the people. We have become friends with a few of their employees and every time we dine with them we are greeted with big smiles and friendly conversation. I would highly highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great beer and delicious meal!
