Its been a while since I've attended this school back in 2012, but I have a lot of mixed-up emotions regarding the school. Being one of the only Asians at the school made me feel isolated from all of the other kids. On top of that, a certain group of kids bullied me constantly and wouldn't leave me alone. They were subtle though. For example, once I was scraping a banana peel of of my shoe and one of them PURPOSELY walked in front of me while I was scraping it against a wall. He then told the teacher that I kicked him. As I sat in the office with the other kid, the principal only listened to what happened from his point of view. This went on for years and no-one ever listened to me. I was the troublemaker, and the rich white kids were the perfect students. I eventually confronted one of the kids and told him to knock it off and he admitted that he was trying to get me expelled. I'm not sure how much the faculty's changed since I went here, but the teachers were a mixed bag. Some teachers were incredibly kind and would listen to all that I had to say, while others were less than admirable. For instance, one of my teachers insulted my religion, and laughed when I told her that I thought God made the world. On the bright side, this school had good curriculum and I learned a lot from my time there. They also had great field trips that provided a hands-on learning experience. Overall, I think this school was bad and wouldn't recommend anyone to send their child here. I may have excelled at academics, and was always at the top of my class, but I was frequently bullied, and felt segregated from the other students. I'm not sure if this school had changed since I left, but unless you fit in you'll be tormented by the privileged.

Unfortunately, we did have a great experience at Strawberry Point as the other posters. My son just finished kindergarten. The school has such a great reputation, we started with high expectations and like many other kindergarten families were dissapointed. Our teacher was OK. She wasn't passionate about teaching and did not seem at all like she loved what she was doing. The principle was completely disconnected with the parents (the kindergarten parents). There were couple of incidents, one major, when parents called the principle but she didn't bother returning their calls. Not until the police got involved. During the year, whenever it rained, for recess or P.E., the kids got to watch television! No, not educational programs, but cartoons. The kindergarten playground is very narrow and small. Therefore it is easy for balls to get kicked up the roof..... so by the end of the year, the three kindergarten classes (60 kids) just had one ball to play with, which caused the kids to fight over the one ball... The teacher said the kids don't know how to take care of the balls so they will not give them any more balls. The set up of snack time and recess is such that after kids have their snack, they can be called out to go to recess. This made the kids not want to eat their snack, just have one bit, to finish up and be the first to be called out to recess.
