My husband and I frequently enjoy lunch here when traveling through town. Restaurant needs a little updating in decor but food is okay and reasonably priced

On our way through New Carlisle around late breakfast-time and didn't want to have the normal fast food. This place was fairly busy around 10:30 AM on a Sunday (church traffic?) with what seemed to be mostly repeat customers and regulars. Guessing that diner/family joints typically have large portions, we split our appetite amongst mom, dad and our three kiddos which turned out to be perfect. We ordered a full "Trucker Omelet", "Taco Omelet" and a Ham & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich. The Trucker was chock full of soft, fluffy biscuits, hash browns, cooked-to-order-eggs and a TON of sausage gravy. To say it was hearty would be an understatement, but my 5-year-old son and I polished it off with minimal strain. The Taco Omelet seemed liked an odd mix of regular ole taco meat (think McCormick or Old El Paso), but it worked, it really worked. The breakfast sandwich was dominated by a huge chunk of country ham and easily satisfied the appetite of my daughters. The staff here was very friendly and quick with service, plus the pricing was spot on. If we're ever through town with empty bellies, we'd certainly stop in for another round.

After 20 minutes we left because we we're never served. Was told they would be right with us but waited on everyone else around us. When we first walked in the waitresses acted like they didn't want us there. Have not been there for a long time back then the food and service was great...Times have changed...too many other places that like to have business.

Nice small town diner. Great pie, good coffee, a little bit of everything on the menu. Chatty, folksy wait staff. Good people doing good work.
