Summit performed a large renovation on our home, designed by Space group architects, building a side and rear extension, loft extension, large outhouse and garden landscaping. Julian has impeccable design skills and suggested some really nice features, such as the detailed brickwork surrounding the extension to match the external loft wall, a large entrance space, giving our home a bright open feel as you walk in the front door, plenty of useful, bespoke carpentry throughout and a beautifully designed garden with a sunken trampoline for the children and tree slide, not to mention the most fantastic outdoor kitchen area which we cannot wait to take advantage of this summer. Summit offer a bespoke mural service which we used for our daughters bedroom. After being given the theme of “Space Jam,” Angelina, Summit’s artist drew a mock up of her design for us to approve before getting to work on the wall. Our girls were over the moon with the outcome and we love having something a bit different to the standard wall paper or paint. From start to finish the entire Summit team were outstanding, they were always so punctual, hardworking, tidy and respectful and were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Julian coordinated each of his individual tradespeople seamlessly, making the whole process really simple for us as clients which was worth its weight in gold. All in all, we cannot fault Summit as a company, and recommend them to everyone that needs any major renovations. Their craftsmanship and high quality finish is second to none and we can't thank them enough for building our dream home.
Summit were recommended to us by our neighbours who had previously used them for their own project. Whilst Summit were not the cheapest firm to provide a quote we were reassured following our initial meeting with Julian and it was clear that he understood our expectation and high standards and gave us the confidence he could deliver the project that we had in mind. The team at Summit carried out the building and refurbishment work at our property which included demolishing an existing single story extension and replacing with a larger structure which would include the laying of herringbone flooring throughout the sitting and dining room areas and traditional floor tiles to the hallway area and complete redecoration of the completed areas. Being in a mid terrace property we were conscious that all materials would need to be brought though the property and were concerned about the levels of dirt and potential damage to areas not included in the building work. We were also concerned about the containment and safety of our pets as they would be present in the house throughout the build. The Summit team fully respected and understood all of these concerns and were very accommodating and respectful of this throughout. The team on site were always polite and respectful and completely approachable when we had questions or needed to discuss elements of the build and they were also very courteous and respectful to our neighbours. As with all building projects there were unexpected challenges and problems that needed to be tackled and Julian was always responsive and on hand to discuss and address as needed. Julian also liaised extensively with our glazing contractors who provided the glazed roof, external and internal doors. Overall we are extremely happy with the work the team delivered and the finished works surpassed even our expectations! We would highly recommend Summit for any building project as Julian and the team were excellent!
We’d heard lots of positive things about Summit Building Group company. Right from the initial meeting with Julian we knew they would be a trusted and safe choice to undertake the ground floor renovation of our Victorian terrace, including a side return extension. Being a bit of a perfectionist, we loved their approach of using high quality materials and their commitment to completing works to the highest standard. They also came up with great ideas to enhance the architect plans and provided solutions to ensure the end result was as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Every single team member was punctual, polite and most importantly were all highly skilled tradespeople. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend SGBC. They’ve definitely left a lasting impression in our house, as our young son now likes to play builders, he’s ‘Big Julian’ and I’m ‘Julian Jnr’
Summit worked with us on the ground floor extension and renovation of the entire ground floor and basement of our Edwardian home. Summit already has a great reputation and a number of neighbours had recommended them from their own build work. They can also manage all areas of work via their large team. Their quote, while not the cheapest, was the most comprehensive and so seemed fair value. Given the high standards we expected of both customer service and quality of work, their excellent reputation, and wanting to work with a single main contractor, we chose Summit. Thankfully the reality lived us to the promise. Once the cost was agreed upon, there were no unexpected increases without asking for additional work. Their team has many excellent qualities. Full of capable professionals working to high standards, taking the time needed rather than rushing through. They turned up on time every day, working full days without fuss. Those that were regulars on-site day in, and day out were also very personable and we actually enjoyed having them around. They were willing to answer our many questions, and help us in our decision-making. Although English is not the native language of the team and sometimes we needed multiple conversations, particularly on complex topics, to get clarity and have confidence in what was to be done. Overall, the team did a great job supporting us along the build process to help keep us clear and assured on the work. Their attitude was one of can-do positivity and accommodating our many requests. Occasionally going over and above the agreed scope of work where something extra was needed. The quality of work and finish was excellent, even to our demanding standards. Giving us confidence that the work will last the test of time. Most importantly we would be happy to recommend them to others. Also to use them again when we look to renovate our first floor and loft.
After much research into local building companies, we chose Summit to carry out a large renovation project on our family home. We couldn’t be more happy with the service we received over the months that they were with us. We remained living in the house with our three children and dog and the builders were incredibly neat, tidy, polite and respectful. Julian, Summit’s owner who managed our project would come every day to talk with us about our on going project. Julian is not only a great communicator, he also has fantastic design skills and we actually made a few amendments to our architects plans because of his suggestions. We have lots of bespoke carpentry throughout the property all designed by Julian and built by his talented carpenters. Overall we cannot fault Summit as a company, and recommend them to everyone that needs any major renovations. Their craftsmanship and high quality finish is second to none. Thank you Summit!
Summit rebuilt our house over the course of 18 months, which included Lockdown #1! They converted the loft, reconfigured the 1st floor, installed 3 bathrooms, bespoke cabinetry throughout, rewired and plumbed everywhere, built an extension, re-rendered, landscaped the garden, built a garden room, installed a new driveway and built the kids a climbing frame! There isn’t anything of the original house left. Summit were an absolute pleasure to work with, they went above and beyond to accommodate our requests which often meant changing things. Their team were always here, always worked a full day and took a real pride in the work they did. We did our works in two phases and where possible Julian used the same team for both. Vasili is now part of the family! We lived in the house for Phase 2 and Julian and the team made us a comfortable kitchen/lounge space and planned all of the works around us being in the house at the same time as them. The quality of Summit’s work is excellent, they take pride in their finishing and high standard of workmanship. I would highly recommend them for any large project. We will defiantly be working with them again in the future, but for now we get to enjoy the finished product!

During lockdown we found that we needed to change the layout of our home to better suit the way that we lived as a family. We wanted a home that brought us together, but also gave us space and relaxation when needed, as well as making sure that the design was ‘future-proof’. We decided to take the plunge and redesign it. Summit completely transformed our home for the better! It was a big project and took eight months to complete. They added a side return and a new kitchen, a downstairs toilet, a utilities room, replaced two first floor bathrooms, built numerous fitted cupboards and painted and decorated the entire property, as well as adding a beautiful patio area. I kept coming across beautiful Victorian properties on Instagram that had been recently renovated by Summit and so I was keen to include them in the tender for our extension. We chose Summit for several reasons. They were the only builders who wanted to meet with us prior to submitting their tender and they were happy for us to contact their previous clients who could only say great things about them. Including the way that they worked, communicated and dealt with any queries. Their work, close-up in real life, still looked as lovely as the Instagram posts, and they managed to balance modern building work with period homes. Julian was our project manager and is such a positive warm person. We loved that we could communicate easily and honestly with Summit. Julian was available to contact whenever we needed to, and he made sure that we were also in direct contact with the key workers such as the electrician, plumber etc. too so that there was no delay in decision making. Not only did he really understand what we wanted but he also made recommendations for suppliers and finishes which was very helpful especially when there are hundreds of decisions to make. We moved out for the project, but regularly popped into the house to see how it was going. The team were so tidy! Cleaning whilst they worked, and when they had finished for the day. They were friendly and happy to answer questions. The team went above and beyond on a few things that we hadn’t asked for, but they intuitively knew that we’d need it. Things which only added to the satisfaction and the quality of the finish. We are so happy with the work that Summit did. Julian ensured that he understood what we wanted from the beginning and kept checking in until the end. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and would definitely use them again in the future.
