This is the best auto mechanics shop i have ever been to! Everyone is very friendly and helpful, the mechanics are very knowledgeable and they do not try to sell you on unnecessary repairs or services. They also have a great discount bundle that I already saved $50 on.  I recommend this shop to everyone I know, do yourself a favor and check them out!

I took my vehicle here for a simple tire fix issue. I had gotten into and accident where black ice caused me to slide sideways into a median hitting both my front and rear drivers side tires. By the time they were done upselling me and getting approval from my wife without consulting me, we ended up getting our transmission flushed as well. We had already done this earlier in the year and the last company knew what they were doing. I have a 99 Honda CR-V. With over 240,000 miles on it. They completely flushed the system and broke my transmission. Then charged me for the tow back to their garage. "THEN" graciously offered me to get the thing fixed for an additional 3k. Just FYI you do not flush the trans fluid in a car that old, you take about half out and replace it then repeat the process. They also did not tighten half the screws they worked on because I was able to take several wheel screws around the suspension, recently replaced by their "parts changers," by hand, no tool required. I spent just under 2k for the original repairs. I was not looking to put this much into my already ancient vehicle, but sunset made sure that it not only happened but served me with a smile while they plunged thier hands into my pocket through my wife. I will never return and I hope this review will stop people from doing anything other than basic repairs here.

I normally do not write a review.  This one is definitely deserves one.  I live in NW suburb and was going to Waukegan.  On 94/294, I had   to go over a big tire which blew open plastic cover and binders underneath my car.  I came across Sunset Tire and  was surprised with amazing customer service.  I have not experienced such level of service at other places.  Truly professional and very kind.  They fixed the cover attaching new binders very promptly.  Also, did not charge me anything.  Very rare to find mechanics like these.  I agree with other positive reviews and can anticipate nothing but great professional service from them.  Keep up the good work guys.  Highly recommended.

On Monday July 3rd, Angel Villafane from Sunset Tire & Auto (13 Skokie Valley Rd) patched a tire with a nail we picked up while driving across country to attend our son's graduation from US Navy Recruit Training.  They promptly repaired the tire before the July 4th holiday so we could return home.  #Grateful for exceptional customer service that enabled us to drive home without delay.

This is very friendly and caring business with great customer service. I highly recommend this garage. They quickly get you on the road. Chris and his staff are wonderful people.
