Story

Dr. Wu is a San diego native, completing his bachelor's degree in biology at UC San Diego, where he contributed to the advancement of biology and medicine through years of research. He went on to receive his D.D.S. from the University of Southern California. Recognizing his love for San Diego, he returned in 1999 to establish his practice. With over 5,000 hours of continuing education, Dr. Wu has extensive background in the areas of cosmetics, orthodontics, TMJ, computerized dentistry, and CEREC ceramic fillings. Dr. Wu has placed over a thousand veneers and CEREC restorations, as well as hundreds of full mouth reconstruction cases.

I am so thankful for Dr. Wu and the Sutra Dental staff. I went in to fix a long time cosmetic dental issue that has bothered me for years. I was very anxious about my appointment, but Dr. Wu and staff helped me to feel at ease and even helped me get excited at the new smile I would soon have. What Dr. Wu was able to do to help me, far exceeded my expectations. I have a new smile that I am not self conscious of anymore. I am now proud of my smile. My friends and family were beyond impressed with my results. Dr. Wu and Sutra Dental staff have always made me feel like a friend, not a patient. This visit was no exception. I could not possibly give a higher recomendation. Thank you Dr. Wu!

I have known Dr. Wu professionally for years. He is always so positive and so professional and his patients love him. He never has a bad day and is always so willing to help others feel better. I appreciate him as an outstanding resource in our community. If you're looking for any dental advice, I would ask Dr. Wu first.

WOW! Amazing dentist, staff and office. I was sad that my dentist of 36 years retired, but now, I wish he had retired sooner! I went to Dr. Wu today for the first time and I feel like I need to tell everyone I know to go there. It is not just the friendly staff, or the wonderful hand, arm and shoulder massage I received from Bernadette while the very knowledgeable, easy going Dr. Wu and assistants worked on my teeth; it was the atmosphere and technology that were amazing. I thought I had walked into a spa: soothing music balanced with the babbling water falling from the large water feature in the lobby and smaller wall waterfalls in each room, high open beam ceilings, soothing colors on the walls (no sterile white walls) and hardly any dental equipment visible (it's hidden in cabinets). But let's talk about the equipment: high tech! I broke my tooth and was expecting to go in today to get a mold made for a crown and then fitted with an uncomfortable temporary crown until the permanent one came in and then have to go back while they manipulated the permanent one to fit. We've all been there. Not at Jimmy Wu's! In two hours I walked out with my permanent crown that they made onsite and it fit like a glove the first time they put it on. It is all done with 3D cameras and printers. Amazing! I never expected to be so excited about a dentist visit! And by the way, if you don't want a massage (although I don't know why you wouldn't because Bernadette is great!), you can watch your favorite movie or show on Netflix! I don't get "Wowed" very often, but WOW! They are the best!!!

I am very afraid of dentists and dental work. Dr. Wu and his staff have set up an environment that will make the biggest scaredy cat feel just fine. Applause. I wont go anywhere else and I live in Orange County now.
