The best Japanese restaurant in Northern Virginia, in our experience. Impeccable fish, a creative menu, and excellent service. The lunch specials are a particularly good deal!

This has been a family staple for me and the gold standard for Japanese food for at least 35 years. Never had a bad meal here.  If you are hungry and cans decide what to eat,  the bento boxes have great variety of items can feed 2. The sashimi and other raw options are top notch.  Staff is friendly. The venue is clean,  good for families or more intimate meals. Weekends tend to be their busiest times,  but worth the wait.

Without a doubt, one of the best Japanese restaurants anywhere. 

Not one of those expensive, overpriced sushi places, so don’t be concerned about the atmosphere, but it certainly isn’t for anyone looking for a cheap bite. It’s not cheap, but I’ve never walked out feeling I overpaid. Whatever you get, the food is always good and fresh. 

The interior is somewhat old and doesn’t look to have been renovated in years. But it’s definitely appropriate for any occasion and a family outing. And the servers are all nice. 

In a nutshell, a McLean landmark.

This is the absolute best sushi on MD DC or VA.  No other sushi place comes close.. it's traditional.  Make reservations or come early.
