It's an alright spot for a decent view. Over hiked in my opinion. Go across the street and go up penwood you'll get a better view and will be able to see the talcott tower from over there. The good thing is that it's a short hike up from the northern parking lot. Go from Hartford reservoir for a longer hike

Wonderful!  The hike up was great on a wide path for most of it.  Beautiful scenery up to and including the Tower.  The tower had an awesome observation deck where one can see for miles around, and they even have landmark plaques so you can tell what you're looking at.  Wish I could have lived there in its prime!  Will go back again.

Love this state park. Great hike. Can do with kids. Awesome views from the top.

Be careful using Google maps, use Summit Ridge Rd to access the park not Ridgeway! Ridgeway is private residences with no parking or access. 
Beautiful park, worth visiting. Give yourself time to enjoy it.

Beautiful views! The first half mile was the hardest part of the trail. However, after that it is a simple walk.
