Tappi has a great selection. Many many rolls to chose from and all very tasty from what I've tried. They also have a full bar. I enjoyed the insanity roll and the shrimp poppers. They have plum wine flavored mochi which was excellent. Parking: Large lot
We were here for our monthly-versary! This place is ahmazing! We had the honeymoon shooters. They were out of Uni so we added shrimp. It was happy hour and we got the yummy 8 PC sashimi, which included Albacore, Salmon, Yellowtail, and tuna. It was presented beautifully with a flower, carrots, lemon slices, and green onions. The only thing missing was the authentic Wasabi. We ordered Ikura, and I was thrilled because Ikura salmon eggs have been scarce recently. TRY the chili green beans. It's a wonderful way to start the meal. We also ordered the sake bomb for $10 on the happy hour menu that includes a cute mini sake and a 4.3 fl oz Sapporo beer. We had Daniella as a server, she was wonderful. TRY the Helix Roll!
Good flavors but all my rolls fell apart and they were a bit smaller in size. Here are the Protine roll and the black&yellow. The soy beans were over cooked and mushy.Takeout: Yes
Great service, and a lengthy happy hour menu with a dollar or two off many popular items. Overall good but the prices trend very high. They have some rolls that are $30 each or more once you add tax and tip. For that price it should be an amazing roll but they are not that impressive. I got one that was supposed to be in a cucumber wrap. It was a quarter inch thick! A cucumber wrap is supposed to be thin as paper. Also, just about everything has shrimp so if you don't like shrimp or you don't eat shellfish, you have to really study the menu to find something that will work, or you have to know how to customize your order. That's a pain. Most sushi restaurants have more fish options. There are also kitchen options of course, but I did not try them.
Not good. Service person was fine. Table wasn't clean. Teriyaki chicken had no flavor. Other items did not seem fresh. California roll fell apart. Unfortunately took my out of town guest. They commented on how bad it was as well. Very expensive for the quality. Will not be going back.
Server was friendly and accomodating. Ordered the chef's special sashimi and the salmon was the only thing that tasted and felt good enough. Half shell oysters tasted decent. The jalapeno poppers were amazing but too spicy for my taste. Strawberry martini was good according to my wife. Sin City roll was good and my Padres roll was huge and alright. They have a lot of choices in their menu and it took a bit to choose which one to order. Atmosphere was nice and the inside of the restaurant looks clean. Everything was a nice experience except for majority of the food that we ordered.
Solid offerings on menu. We had yakisoba, sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, oysters on the half shell, spicy garlic edamame, beers and cocktails. All food items were pretty good. Waitress nice.
New favorite sushi spot! the sashimi tappi's way is absolutely a must try! We've tried several rolls, the black and yellow. King crab roll, kamikaze, La Mesa, padres, Mango and all have been delicious! Pictured is the yellow tail and blue fin tappi's way. The kamikaze Roll and the black and yellow
The staff here are pleasant. Food is made to order. My issue is that these rolls are overpriced and underwhelming. Plus, I ordered takeout and the rolls didn't look worth the prices. One of the rolls I ordered, it was either the Protein or Tappi roll whichever has a green sauce on top was DRENCHED in sauce. Like the bottle cap fell off and all the sauce flooded the box or they were really trying to cover something up. None of the rolls I ordered were memorable or else I'd mention which one I actually liked.
Food was pretty good. One of the rolls was a little small. I’ll have to come back to check it out again to get a better taste of the restaurant.
