TCF Bank cannot determine if money is a counterfeit or if it's authentic. Had to go to Bank of America to get the authentic bill recycled.

Previously a 5-star rating for good service, this was recently lowered to 3 stars due to an error in resolving an issue that would have cost me significant cash, had I not been vigilant about following up.

Also, hours have been made less convenient, and I can no longer contact the local branch by phone.

This branch changed their hours and now closes earlier. They have a makeshift sign on the door. When I tried calling I got the main TCF number. What a pain in the butt. Now they're trying to hit me with overdraft fees. Even though I had cash in hand I wanted to deposit.

Bank teller told me I could only cash part of my check when the past two weeks I had cashed the entire check with other locations.  He the. Told me sorry I can't override it.  I went down the street to another location and it was cashed in full no questions asked....

This bank has the worst service. I went there to discuss charges that came from someone taking too much money out of my account. Even though the company fixed their mistake the bank continued to charge these ridiculous amounts and instead of pay the other withdraws where there was enough money to cover them, they continued to add fees for the one thing that was wrong. Either way the staff was rude and insensitive to everything. I have been with this bank for over 10 years but enough is enough. I am moving both my accounts and kids accounts to PNC.
