This park has a lot to offer and more info from Sarasota County can be found with a quick search.  Sarasota County has done a fantastic job with their parks and kayak trails.  I've kayaked often using the northern South Lido Nature Park kayak launch area.  If you plan to rent, call ahead as no financial transactions are allowed onsite.  The south end Lido beach area has lots of parking, decent bathrooms, plenty of tables and grilling, and long stretches of beaches on both the inlet and gulf sides.  Swimming in the gulf is fine, but plan on strong currents along the inlet beaches especially with out going tides.

Had an amazing time kayaking with my wife and kids! It isnt very deep at all so definitely suitable for the kiddos to tag along!

Easy access to kayaking through the mangroves...lots of kayak rental companies here also if you don't have your own...nice size parking lot with hose to rinse off the salt water off the kayaks

Poor experience right now. No funds are being spent right now. Derelict  work area of trail, left closed off. Work tentative to begin in Spring, maybe???
