We are a neighborhood congregation that knows and cares about its members, yet is large enough to provide quality professional and lay leadership that is able to respond to the many and diverse needs of today’s Jewish families.
From our Nursery School to Adult Programming, we offer meaningful and substantive Jewish educational opportunities, supported by a warm and welcoming temple. Our inclusive worship services provide the spiritual foundation for personal Jewish enrichment. Our social action programs and projects extend our commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world) into the greater metropolitan community.
Now in our 60th anniversary year, this is an exciting time to be a part of our Temple Emanu-El Family. The only Reform synagogue inthe southeast corner of Oakland County, we are firmly established as a significant Jewish presence in our community.
WELCOME MESSAGE FROM RABBI KLEIN AND CANTOR SHARLEIN
"We welcome you into our family with the promise that we will always be here for you - whether in responding to your family's life-cycle needs, offering a wide variety of educational opportunities for you and your children, or engaging your Jewish identity in spiritual and social settings. We encourage you to worship with us, learn with us, and find your own place within the many activities of our congregational community, knowing that it is here where one is best able to find and express one's authentic Jewish self. It is our pleasure to help you, encourage you, and support you in that quest. Our offices are always open."
Temple Emanu-El is a Reform Jewish Congregation that welcomes, includes and invites all to actively participate in Jewish life. We are a community that keeps alive our cherished tradition of a relationship to God through communal worship, by sharing Jewish learning, spiritual celebrations, and a commitment to social justice. We are a Family of Families, focused on building a caring, supportive and inclusive community, dedicated to the ongoing study of Torah, and ensuring the continuity of our Jewish tradition from generation to generation.

RELIGIOUS SCHOOL AND YOUTH ACTIVITIES
Our motto: "Torah, Avodah, Gemilut Chasadim: Tradition, Spirituality, Ethics: Live It, Learn It, Love It."
Education at Temple Emanu-El provides the opportunity to explore, learn, and experience Jewish tradition, spirituality, and ethics in a supportive and stimulating learning environment. We seek to empower each person to participate in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and inspiration to make Judaism a meaningful and enriching part of his or her life.
Through our programs, we seek to help students develop a religious and cultural awareness of themselves as members of the Jewish community and as Reform Jews in particular. We are committed to past, present, and future generations to kindle the light of spirituality and lifelong Jewish learning.
